Friday 13th has gathered shadows over the centuries, yet its roots are far older than superstition.

Friday was once associated with the Norse goddesses Freyja and F***g, guardians of love, magic, fertility and wisdom. It was a day devoted to the feminine current of creation.

And 13?

Thirteen lunar cycles in a year. The rhythm of the Moon, the tides and the womb. The sacred cycle of life, death and rebirth. In ancient cultures, 13 marked initiation and mystery.

But as the patriarchal systems rose, feminine wisdom became threatening. Women who worked with herbs, healing, midwifery and energy were persecuted. Sacred knowledge was reframed as dangerous. Even this date was layered with fear and control.

When the feminine is sovereign and intuitive, systems built on dominance often attempt to silence it.

So what if Friday 13th was never cursed? What if it has always been a doorway? A Portal day? A reminder that your intuition is not irrational. Your cycles are not inconvenient. Your depth is not too much.

Today carries High Priestess energy. The quiet power of the Moon. The remembrance of women who walked in wisdom long before their gifts were feared.

Celebrate your divine feminine energy today. Light a candle. Step outside and feel the sky. Place a hand on your heart or womb. Whisper gratitude to the women before you. Call back any part of yourself that has been shamed or hidden.

This day is about reclamation. Remembering that what was once sacred can be sacred again.

This Imbolc night we also have a beautiful full moon shining down on us.

This powerful Snow Moon carries the wisdom of stillness and rest, honouring what you have been holding beneath the surface.

The Snow Moon brings clarity as it gently reveals what is ready to be softened, what can be released and what deserves to remain.

She shines on your quiet strength, on the beauty of pausing and on knowing that nothing blooms before its time.

Stand beneath her light this evening and allow it to wash over you. Let it remind you that rest is sacred, and that the thaw has already begun.

Today marks the arrival of Imbolc, like milk flowing in the veins of the earth and light threading itself back into the days.

The earth still rests but it is no longer asleep. Under the last frosts and dark soil, life is remembering its shape.

This is the season of the hidden flame. The ember that was kept alive through the winter months. Like a breath held, then softened.

Brigid walks here, with fire in her hands
and poetry on her tongue. She warms what has been waiting and blesses what is yet to come.

Snowdrops are beginning to push through the cold ground and the light is beginning to linger a little longer each day as if it knows it is welcome again.

Imbolc whispers, tend what you love, protect what is growing and trust what you cannot yet see.

The wheel has turned.
The flame is lit.
Spring is on its way.
