I work with adults with aphasia at all levels of severity but a lot of my recent work is with people with aphasia that is not always obvious to other communication partners.. this can be really frustrating for the person with aphasia as it becomes an invisible difficulty, but still a very real one which can make communication feel very effortful and as a result cause fatigue.

A really thought-provoking session today on the rise of AI in SLT

We heard from Dr Umang Patel who works for Microsoft and is also a Paediatrician in the NHS. He talked about AI and its use in the NHS and the future of AI in the NHS.

Then discussed AI use in SLT with lots of practical tips.

Finally we heard from Steven Naylor SLT about using AI to help with assessment analysis.

Honestly pretty mind blowing 🤯 tech and so much out there but the common theme was about how to use AI safely and ethically in our practice. And also the point in the above photo "AI can both sharpen and blunt our intellectual skills depending on how we wield it"
