Our next installment of appreciation is shining a well-deserved spotlight on our incredible Admin Team—the people who keep everything running like clockwork behind the scenes (and at the front desk too!) ⏰💼
From the warm smiles that greet every guest who walks through our doors, to the endless support they provide to our residents and their families, their role is truly at the heart of our home. They’re the organisers, the problem-solvers, the friendly faces, and the calm in the busy moments—making sure our team is supported and everything runs smoothly each and every day 💖

We’re kicking off our appreciation posts in the best way possible—by wishing a very special happy 40th birthday to our wonderful Deputy Manager, Sheli! 🥳💐
Sheli, you are truly one of a kind—a kind, bubbly tornado of fun with a heart of gold and an unbreakable spirit. Your energy lights up every room, and your care and dedication mean so much to both our residents and the whole team. Today is all about celebrating YOU and everything you bring to Astbury Mere 💖✨

✨ We’re all wild here… and we wouldn’t have it any other way! 🎩☕️

Our residents tumbled down the rabbit hole for a truly magical Alice in Wonderland-themed tea party, and what an unforgettable afternoon it was! From “Drink Me” delights to a wonderland of teas, there was every variety imaginable—perfectly paired with a delicious spread of cakes crafted by our incredible chefs 🍰💖

We spent the afternoon laughing, playing games, and enjoying a movie that brought the magic of Wonderland to life 🎬🐇 And of course, things got delightfully competitive with our marshmallow toss—who knew the Queen of Hearts would inspire such skill?!😄

With fabulous tea party hats, whimsical outfits, and smiles all around, it truly felt like we’d stepped into Wonderland itself. A day filled with fun and laughter ❤️

What a wonderful and busy week it’s been here at Astbury Mere Care Home!

Our residents have been out and about enjoying a fantastic visit to the Stockport Hat Museum, taking in the history and trying on different styles.

Back at home, there’s been plenty of fun and friendly competition too, with lively games of Scrabble and skittles alongside our friends from Macclesfield FC.

It’s been a week full of laughter, connection, and making special memories together 💛 We’re already looking forward to what next week brings!

Today, we are incredibly proud to share a very special achievement for our care home. We have successfully completed the Six Steps to Success End of Life Programme for Care Homes.

This recognition reflects our deep commitment to providing compassionate, person-centred care at every stage of life. Supporting individuals and their families during such an important time is a privilege we never take lightly, and this programme has strengthened our knowledge, skills, and confidence to do this with dignity, respect, and kindness.

We want to thank our dedicated team, whose empathy and professionalism make a difference every single day. This achievement belongs to each of them, and to the residents and families who trust us to care for their loved ones.
