Hello everyone 👋 I hope this finds you all well. Earlier this week I postponed my workshops for March and April which was sad but it needed to happen. Thank you so much to everyone for your support, understanding and for moving to alternative dates later in the year. You’re amazing! I’ll keep you all posted about the status of future workshops. Looking forward to seeing our tutors soon. In the meantime, stay healthy (physically and mentally), stay positive and indulge in something creative - it’s so good for you. See you all soon ###. ❤️

*New workshop news* Beginner’s Modern Calligraphy with the awesome By Moon & Tide Calligraphy is back with 2 dates and I cannot wait!

Dates: 30th April and 31st July

Learn the basics in the morning then limber up for some serious creativity in the afternoon. Develop your own style with flourishing techniques, try colour calligraphy, adding watercolour and write your own inspirational quote.

B is for beautiful lettering in our first workshop of 2020.

We’re kicking things off with:

Illuminated Lettering is the art of “illuminating” manuscripts with gold leaf or gesso and colourful illustration. This skill has historic roots dating way back to the 4th Century but was more widely used during the Middle Ages.

Due to the expensive nature of the materials and intricate skills involved to “illuminate” elaborate manuscripts, bibles and documents these were generally only commissioned and owned by "society's rulers” - emperors, kings, dukes, cardinals, and bishops.

This beautiful art is now considered an endangered heritage craft and only a few people have the in depth knowledge to share. The processes can be used to create more modern pieces which we are seeing more of - greetings cards, illustrations highlighted with gold to create pictures, even wedding invitations.

The awesome Chris Moss Wire Sculpture is returning to teach a brand new 3 day workshop to create this amazing fox. There are only a few places remaining on this workshop already.

👉Tues 31 March to Thurs 2 April
👉£230 plus £12 materials payable to Chris on the day
👉Healthy lunches, cakes & refreshments provided

We also offer B&B accommodation in our adjoining property Lanehead Coniston exclusively for S&A guests and families. You're more than welcome to extend your stay and enjoy the Lake District. Message for info.

Beautiful day for beautiful wreaths! 11 truly stunning Christmas wreaths were created today with the expert guidance of Green House Floristry - Lake District I even had chance to make one too 🙌 Here are a few results!

Such a great start to the festive season, thank you so much! Please send me/post photos of your wreaths on your doors or wherever they feature, I”d love to see them in their final setting. Can’t wait for next year!
