Connecting with People Connecting with People training aims to reduce su***de and ensure safe responses to self harm.

Connecting with People work to progress the implementation of research findings into clinical practice, by pioneering a strategic approach to su***de and self-harm mitigation, and emotional resilience. Bitesize (two hour) modular training builds knowledge, skills, confidence and promotes a compassionate approach. The training includes the SAFETool which provides a robust framework for identifying and managing su***de risk, contributing towards excellent clinical governance. The Connecting with People Clinical Tools have been developed in collaboration with the leading practitioners and academics in the UK and have been subject to a thorough peer-review process. This programme aims to support the development of a common language and approach, promoting more consistent documentation of the assessment process and more integrated response across statutory services, third sector providers and communities. Connecting with People also offer workplace health and wellbeing programmes:

Wow, we've just learnt that our new Staying Safe website is averaging at 1500 visitors A DAY and that the blank Safety Plan has been downloaded 347 times since launching the website 5 days ago!

The website provides vital ‘Safety Plan' guidance tools jointly funded by NHS England, with easy to print / download templates and guidance video tutorials to help people through the process of writing their own Safety Plan. Safety Plans help to build hope, identify actions and strategies to resist suicidal thoughts and develop positive ways to cope with stress and emotional distress.

*** NEW ONLINE RESOURCE FOR PEOPLE AT RISK OF SU***DE

We're delighted to announce the launch of our new ‘Staying Safe’ website, developed with invaluable input from international academics, mental health practitioners, people who have survived suicidal thoughts and those personally affected by su***de through bereavement.

StayingSafe.net offers support, compassion and vital resources for anyone distressed, thinking about su***de or worried about someone they care about.

The website provides vital ‘Safety Plan' guidance tools jointly funded by NHS England, with easy to print / download templates and guidance video tutorials to help people through the process of writing their own Safety Plan. The distrACT app provides easy, quick and discreet access to general health information and advice about self-harm. While the app is mainly aimed at young people in the UK, those living in other parts of the world may also find it useful.
