Before and after ONE session! 🤩

This female hasn’t even shaved since her first session which was 3 weeks ago. Look at the difference in the amount of hairs already ⚡️

Underarm is such a popular area for laser hair removal treatment. Typically each person requires 6-8 sessions however this is dependent on hormones and genetic factors 💥

Each session is £50 and can be paid as you go along so no forking out large amounts of money.

You will get a session once every 5-6 weeks initially and then we can reduce the time between sessions when the growth has reduced.

AFTER ONE SESSION!! Consent obtained to share pictures 💕

This female has had ONE session of Hollywood and as you can see the follicles have drastically reduced. This is because the hairs have been destroyed and are no longer there 🤩

If you zoom in on the before picture (the area was shaved the night before treatment) you can see the large amounts of follicles in one small area 💥 And when you zoom in on the after picture you can see very little remaining follicles 🫢

You can also see how there are no ingrown hairs, shaving rash, bumps, lumps etc and the texture of the skin looks so smooth already 🐬

Why is this important?? 🤔 You will hear me talk a lot about the hair growth cycle during your consultation. This is really important to understand to be aware what to expect during and after your laser treatment.

⚡️ STAGE 1 - Anagen stage (active growing stage). This is when the follicle is still attached to the blood supply and root. There is an abundance of melanin and the follicle will be at its deepest in the dermis. This is the ideal stage to treat hairs when undergoing laser hair removal treatment. The laser will effectively target the melanin (pigment) within the follicle and destroy it so it does not grow back.

⚡️ STAGE 2 - Catagen stage (transitioning phase) This is a very short phase, the active growing hairs will stop growing and after laser they will detach from the root and blood supply. It is important to start gently exfoliating the area around day 7-20 after each treatment to promote the next stage which will begin the process of shedding.

⚡️ STAGE 3 - Telogen stage (rest phase). The hairs remain dormant and then start to shed themselves. The length of this stage varies depending on each person.

⚡️ STAGE 4 - Exogen (shedding phase) The hairs will naturally shed themselves out i.e fall out and not regrow.

⚡️To ensure effectiveness of laser hair removal we aim to target hairs within the Anagen (active growing stage) during each session. We typically can treat 20-30% of the hairs in the active growing stage during each treatment session so this explains why you need to be consistent with attending your appointments to maximise results.

⚡️ At any one time our hairs will be in a range of the 1-3 cycles of hair growth. Unfortunately we cannot tell what hairs are in what stage however this explains why you need to undergo a course of treatments to target as many hairs as possible. Typically each person may require 6-8 sessions spaced out between 4-6 weeks. If someone is hormonal or other hereditary reasons they may require more sessions to target the hairs and top ups may be required.

⚡️ “THAT’S A GOOD REACTION” ⚡️ This is what you will hear me saying every time there is a reaction like this 🫢 But what is it?? 🤔 This is one of the most common short-term side effects of laser hair removal and it is called ‘Follicular Edema”. The goal of laser hair removal is to transfer enough heat energy to the hair follicle to destroy it, but not too much energy that it damages the surrounding skin ❌ One of the ways we measure this is by how your skin reacts after it has been treated with laser 🌡 And one of the most common tell tale signs it is going well is ‘Follicular Edema’ which may appear like hundreds of ant bites on the skin 🐜Basically, after the heat energy has transferred to the follicle it swells 😯 A near immediate reaction is expected and it usually happens where the hairs are at their thickest 💥 It can look a bit scary as you can see in the picture however this is completely normal, it can last up to 24-48 hours, however majority of the time will reduce in a few hours ⏰ It is important not to irritate the skin further, so no itching, scratching, shaving until it subsides and only apply pure aloe vera gel to sooth and calm the skin 🪴🧊
