A huge thank you to everyone who came along to our Basic Life Support Training last night ❤️🚑

It was great to see so many people giving up their time to learn these important skills. We would also like to say a big thank you to Kildress Wolfe Tones for kindly allowing us to use their excellent facilities to carry out the training.👏🏼

Well done to everyone who attended, you never know when these skills could help save a life. 💙

💙Defibrillator Location Decision💙

We carefully considered where to place the new defibrillator to ensure it benefits the greatest number of people.

With most comments being Oliver Corey Garages and Sperrin View Glamping. Using a 2km radius, we looked at household coverage and existing defibrillators in the area.

📍 Oliver Corey Garages covers approximately 70 houses and does not overlap with any existing defibrillators.
📍 Sperrin View Glamping covers approximately 40 houses, with two defibrillators in Davagh already within the 2km radius.

It was a close decision, as both locations were suitable. However, due to the wider coverage and lack of nearby defibrillators, we chose Oliver Corey Garages as the location that best meets the community’s needs.

A competition will run tomorrow evening for those who commented the chosen location, good luck everyone! ⭐️

🚨 We’ve got a new defibrillator and YOU can help decide where it goes! 🚨

On the map below, you’ll see all the current defibrillator locations marked, along with the area we cover outlined in red. We’d love your help in deciding where this new lifesaving device should go.

💙 Suggest a location in Kildress (with a power supply)
💙 Is easily accessible to the public 24/7
💙 Remember to take the map into consideration of an area that has fewer defibrillators nearby

What you need to do:

📍Check the map to see where our current defibs are, then tell us where you think it should be placed.
💬 Comment below with your suggested location.

🎉 Competition Time 🎉

Those who suggest the location that we decide to place the new defibrillator will be in with a chance to win a prize as a thank you for your input! 👏🏼

Kildress Community First Responders Update💙

Since we launched at the end of April, our volunteers have attended 6 call-outs in the local area up until the end of July.

A special mention goes to one of our dedicated volunteers who, while out shopping in M&S Cookstown, came to the aid of a member of the public experiencing pains in his chest and down his left arm. She stayed with him for two hours until the ambulance arrived.

The following week, M&S kindly surprised her with flowers and chocolates as a thank you for her time and support. 🌸👏🏼

❗️A Reminder to Our Local Community❗️
In the event of a medical emergency, always dial 999.

When you call 999, the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service will assess the situation and, if appropriate, Kildress First Responders will be notified. One of our trained volunteers will then be dispatched and will arrive as quickly as possible to provide immediate support while the ambulance is on its way.

Every second counts, and your call ensures help is on the way.
