Easy alternative to enhance fine motor skills 🙌

Threading is brilliant for hand–eye coordination and focus… but tiny beads can be really challenging for many children.

Try this instead 👇
Scarves or rope + foam noodles cut into small pieces.
Pop a hole through each one so they’re like little Doughnut 🍩

Participant’s can thread, create patterns, work on colour recognition when finished can colour match and most importantly experience success.

Simple equipment. Inclusive approach. Big impact. ✨

Hand over hand is all about guiding and supporting a child to learn. 💪✨ In this video, I’m helping children pinch pegs onto cones (making crabs🦀) giving just enough guidance to build strength, coordination, and confidence. Sometimes we all need a little help to learn new skills, and that’s exactly what hand over hand does.

So many new faces on here lately… so I thought I’d reintroduce myself 👋🏼

I’m Ronán, an Inclusive Development Specialist and Child Development Coach from Ireland 💙

I work with children of all abilities supporting, children and young people with additional needs, schools, families and community groups. My sessions focus on movement, confidence, emotional regulation and making physical activity meaningful, inclusive and fun.

I started this journey because I truly believe every child deserves to feel included, capable and celebrated. Over the years I’ve had the privilege of working in schools, communities, SEN settings, support sessions and family development days and honestly, it never feels like “work.”

My mission is simple:
✨ Engagement
✨ Inclusion
✨ Enjoyment

I want to help as many children, parents and educators as possible create environments where every ability matters.

Delighted to have led today’s ‘Inclusion Starts With You’ workshop with the coaches in Owenbeg! It was fantastic to see so many passionate coaches eager to incorporate inclusive practices and creatively enhance their Gaelic games sessions, especially in working with boys and girls with additional needs. Huge thanks to Derry GAA & Killian Conlan for the invitation, and I can’t wait to reconnect with everyone soon! 💙
