Cardiohealth(NI) have been providing cardiovascular screening services in Northern Ireland since 2012. Several locations are available in the North and these services are now available in several pharmacies located in the border counties of ROI. Cardiohealth was the first and only company in Northern Ireland with the state-of-the-art arteriograph, which is designed to detect any damage being done to the heart and vascular system through lifestyle and diet. Ireland has one of the highest heart disease rates in Europe, one in three people will die from heart attack or stroke. There is now a way available for people to become aware of these health issues.

“The screening and consultation takes 30 minutes. A specially designed cuff is inflated on the arm which contains sensors which measures the pressure wave coming out from the heart and its reflection. Depending on the height and speed of the pressure wave we can detect whether there is early damage to the small peripheral arteries or more advanced central stiffening of the main arteries and also the blood pressure at the heart. We can determine from these results how quickly the arteries are ageing. Once screened the client is provided with results, an evaluation report and also nutritional and lifestyle advice.
