As an agency we are collecting our empty tablet strip packs and taking them to Superdrug who are working in conjunction with TerraCycle who will convert the packaging into reusable raw materials using its unique recycling process – preventing empty packs spending a lifetime in landfill. What’s more, Superdrug are supporting Marie Curie as each empty blister packet that gets recycled as part of the ‘Little Packs, Big Impact’ scheme.
It's easy - it's free and it's a double whammy - recycling and supporting a fantastic charity too, really is amazing as to how they pile up very quickly.

Domiciliary Care is open to all those needing just a little assistance to stay independent right through to full time care at home.
Recently we have been working with one of our younger service users who wanted to cook a healthy alternative to pasta for their family.....
We googled recipes.
Budgeted.
Sourced and purchased a spirializer online.
Made a shopping list.
Shopped for ingredients whilst keeping within budget.
Worked out how to use the new equipment 😊 and
Cooked.
Not only were new life skills learnt with this exercise like safely purchasing on-line and sticking to a budget, but the enjoyment and confidence it resulted in were a boost to the individuals self esteem and wellbeing.

You’re never too old to learn something new....whilst baking with one of our clients who uses our services for shopping & companionship they taught us an apparently ‘non fail’ Victoria Sponge recipe.

Weigh 3 eggs and use that weight to measure your butter, caster sugar and self raising flour. Cream butter and sugar, add flour, eggs and 1tsp baking powder, whisking thoroughly. Bake in a 170 degree preheated oven for 18-20 mins. Make butter cream by whisking 9oz of icing sugar into 3oz of softened butter and add 1-2tsps milk. Sandwich cooled cakes together with jam & buttercream and sprinkle the top with a dusting of icing sugar.

Very enjoyable and the perfect accompaniment to a cup of tea and a friendly chat😋☕️.

Our staff at MarisMann Care have been going to Northamptonshire vaccination centres all week to receive their Covid-19 vaccines.
A big shout out to our NHS colleagues and also the numerous volunteers who are doing an amazing job vaccinating the most vulnerable in our society and the care sector.
