We’re proud to be sponsors of Corby Fireworks 2025!

There’s something truly magical about standing under a night sky filled with colour, those moments when the world falls quiet for just a heartbeat, and all you can do is look up, breathe in, and remember. ✨

Whether it’s a loved one, a special memory, or simply how far you’ve come, fireworks have a way of lighting up more than just the sky.

We can’t wait to share this beautiful evening with our community. 🌟
See you there, Corby!

🌿 When is the right time to reach out to a funeral director?

If you have a loved one in end-of-life care, this question can feel overwhelming, but reaching out before you need to can make all the difference.

Please join us in welcoming the latest recruit to the Eternity team, by far our youngest and cutest new hire:

💖 Loretta Georgie Brown
🕖 Joined the team at 7:38pm on 31st October 2025
⚖️ Starting weight: 7lbs 11oz

Loretta will be reporting directly to Mum (Jacqueline) and Dad (Matthew), with Big Sister providing on-the-job training in cuddles and chaos.

Early signs show exceptional potential in sleeping, eating, and generally melting hearts. In line with company tradition, we’ll have her cleaning the cars as soon as she can hold a sponge! 😉🚗✨

Mum and Baby are doing brilliantly, and we couldn’t be prouder to have our newest little Brown join the Eternity family.

Welcome to the world Loretta, we love you to Eternity and beyond 💫

We certainly get to care for the most remarkable people and visit some fascinating places.

Each service we arrange tells a unique story, and this family chose a unique location to reflect the loved one they were celebrating. The grand historic building, steeped in centuries of history yet surrounded by peaceful countryside, brought its own quiet beauty to the occasion.

This photo not only shows a place where Catherine of Aragon, the first wife of Henry VIII, once lived after her marriage ended, but also marks where we said a fond farewell to a beautiful, determined, and courageous soul. Much like Catherine, she was kind, intelligent, and deeply principled, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

It’s a privilege to do what we do, helping families create meaningful moments of remembrance 🌿🕊️

💭 Did you know the funeral sector is unregulated?

It’s true, right now, funeral businesses in England operate with no government regulation. This means families often have to place their trust in a sector with no official safeguards.

At Eternity Funeral Services, we believe accountability is essential. That’s why we’re incredibly proud to have recently become accredited by an industry trade body SAIF, holding ourselves to strict professional standards and regular inspections.

Families deserve transparency, respect, and genuine care. We’re proud to set higher standards, and we hope to see formal regulation introduced across the industry in the future, so families everywhere can be confident they’re in safe hands.

We’re incredibly grateful to SAIF for their trust in our business, and to our spouses, Jacqueline and Adam, for their constant support and belief in our efforts to reach this milestone.

With love
Matthew & Katie

Corby, Northamptonshire – The funeral sector in England remains one of the few essential industries without formal government regulation, a surprising fact for many families making one of life’s most sensitive decisions. But in a landscape often criticised for inconsistency and lack of oversight...

If you’ve ever attended one of our services, you may have had the pleasure of experiencing the wonderful Esther Diane in action. As a Funeral Celebrant, Esther brings warmth, compassion, and eloquence to every ceremony she leads.

But what you might not know is that Esther is also a talented Wedding Celebrant, and an absolutely fantastic actress! 🎭

We’ve had the joy of seeing her shine on stage as Miss Hannigan in Annie, and now she’s taking things to a whole new level… officiating a wedding ceremony in character as Nessa Jenkins (yes, that Nessa from Gavin & Stacey – “What’s occurin’?” 😄).

Only Esther could pull off something so unique, heartfelt, and unforgettable. Whether it’s a celebration of life or love, she brings something truly special to every moment. 💫💍❤️

And speaking of love… Esther has recently got engaged herself! 💕 We’re absolutely thrilled for her and wish her and her future husband every happiness as they start this new chapter together 👏 🍾🥂

🕊️ One Year Ago Today... 🕊️

One year ago today, for the very first time, we walked those very first steps as funeral directors entrusted with leading someone on their final journey. That day is etched in our hearts forever.

We remember the stillness, the quiet strength of the family, and the weight of responsibility. But above all, we remember the loved one we had the honour to lay to rest. Though we never met them, we felt the depth of their story in every word, every tear, and every hand held. It was a privilege to care for them and guide their family through a moment no one ever truly feels ready for.

As we took those first steps in this life of service, we carried more than just nerves and responsibility, we carried our own guardian angel on our shoulder, our Grandad. A person who taught us about quiet strength, compassion, and dignity without ever needing to speak it aloud. We felt him there, steadying us, guiding us, walking beside us every step of the way.

This isn’t just a profession. It’s a promise. To honour life, to serve our community, and to hold space for love in its most raw and powerful form. That first farewell changed us forever. And today, one year on, we remember that sacred moment with deep gratitude.

🤍To the family who trusted us that day, thank you.
🤍To the soul we laid to rest, we hope we served you well.
🤍And to Grandad, we hope we made you proud.

With love always,
Matthew & Katie x

Across the country, landmarks are glowing in pink and blue to mark Baby Loss Awareness Week.

While the Eternity offices may not be quite as grand as The Kelpies or Blackpool Tower, they’re shining just as brightly in remembrance and support.

On Wednesday 15th October, we’ll join the Global Wave of Light, lighting a candle to remember all the babies gone too soon.

We invite you to take part too, and light a candle at 7pm to join people across the world in this moment of reflection and love.

With love,

Matthew & Katie x
