Most pre-paid funeral plans in the UK aren’t set in stone! They can be transferred, updated, or even cancelled!

That’s because your money sits with one of 26 FCA-authorised funeral plan providers, not necessarily with the funeral director you originally chose.

If your wishes have changed, or you’re thinking about using a different funeral director, you have options:

🔄 Switching Funeral Directors
You can usually transfer your plan to a different funeral director if needed.

✏️ Updating Your Funeral Wishes
Changed your mind about burial or cremation? Most plans allow you to update your preferences.

❌ Cancelling Your Plan
You can often cancel your funeral plan and receive a refund.

Life changes, and so can your farewell plans. It’s completely okay to review and adjust your plan to reflect who you are today.

🌟 WE HAVE NEWS – What a positive start to 2026! 🌟

Back in March 2025, Matthew and Katie attended a Love Corby event with George Candler, Director of Places & Economy at North Northamptonshire Council.

During the event, Matthew bravely raised an important and thoughtful question about the cost of unattended (direct) cremations at the council-run Warren Hill Crematorium in Kettering. He explained that, in order to keep this option affordable for local families, Eternity needed to use nearby out-of-county crematoriums. While this saved families a significant amount of money, it meant funds weren’t being reinvested locally and it increased Eternity’s carbon footprint.

Now, at the start of 2026, we are delighted to see that these comments have been taken on board. Warren Hill Crematorium now offers unattended cremations at less than half of the original price.

This is a huge step forward for local families who wish to keep their loved ones close to home on their final journey. 💙
