Luke, our esteemed colleague from Ann Bonham & Son Funeral Directors, leant a helping hand today at our Corby branch along with Craig, Nate, Alan and Mark to assist a family in saying goodbye to a loving Partner, Mother and Grandmother. Celebrant, Alison Monro, delivered a beautiful Service after working alongside our Funeral Service Specialist, Vee.

Andy and his team (Connor, Craig, Nate and Alan), helped a family say goodbye to a loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother today in the Albert Munn Chapel at Warren Hill Crematorium. Angela Darlow provided a beautiful service after working alongside our Funeral Service Specialist, Vee. The floral tributes were courtesy of Petal Cascade Florist.

This morning our Funeral Director Scott made his way over from Bruce Carter & Son and surprised our Funeral Service Specialists Sam and Carol with some flowers.

Sam and Carol have been the face of John Drage for a number of years now and work tirelessly to ensure the families they serve get only the highest levels of service.

Scott had this to say "Sam and Carol are in a word, FANTASTIC! 2025 was a year that presented a number of challenges across our area yet they never once shirked their responsibilities, complained or let things affect them or the service they offer our families. They work so hard both individually and collaboratively to ensure the families in their charge receive an exceptional level of service. Since returning to Dignity Funerals I have been unable to be as present as I would like at John Drage however, knowing that I have two meticulous, confident, competent, conscientious, empathetic, caring and professional members of the team in Sam and Carol really has been a blessing. So, for the fantastic work you have done during 2025 a big WELL DONE and THANK YOU from me"

For most of us Christmas Day starts with gifts under the tree, facetime calls with family and boxes of celebrations for breakfast.

As the day progresses households up and down the country then experience good food, terrible cracker jokes and the inevitable family fall outs over games of Charades or any one of a number of board games.

Whilst it's a time of celebration for many for others it is a very real reminder that there are loved ones no longer with them, family members they have lost this year or in years past.

A chair that was once occupied now sits empty. One less table setting is required, one fewer present given or received, one card missing from the mantlepiece and the warmth and joy that the sound of a loved ones voice, their laugh, their embrace brings is distinctly absent.

Today, if only for a brief moment we remember those families for which Christmas has always lost a bit of its magic.

Today, our Funeral Director Andy, spent his usual Friday morning with the lovely regulars at the Church of Scotland Care and Share group… enjoying a coffee, cake, sausage rolls and a good natter.
This Friday was extra special as it was the last get together before Christmas and Andy was treated to a beautiful rendition of ‘12 Days of Christmas’. Well done all 🎶🎵

Everybody is welcome to the group, and if you would like to put in a contribution for the delicious cakes and snacks that are made voluntarily, then it is gratefully received and all proceeds are donated to a charity at the end of the year 🧡
