Price increase notice:

I am committed to providing good quality care at reasonable prices and as such I have managed to keep the price of a treatment session the same since June 2023.

Costs have increased considerably since then so unfortunately from 1st January 2026 the price will be increasing by £3 to £43 per session.

New patient appointments will remain the same at £60.

📚Lending Library Book Spotlight - Saturated Facts by Dr Idz

Dr Idz is a UK medical doctor with a Masters of Research in Nutrition and Board Certification in Lifestyle Medicine. With 1.9million followers on TikTok he is well known for pushing back against misinformation.

This book is easy to read and well set out, starting with busting common myths about nutrition such as fats being bad.

I don’t necessarily agree with everything in this book (such is the nature of nutrition science and the fact that every person has a unique set of genetics and microbiome), but it is an excellent starting point for anyone who is confused about all the misinformation there is out there about food and wants to eat better.

📚 Lending Library Book Spotlight - Food for Life by Tim Spector

Released late in 2022, this book goes into detail about all the different foods we eat and combines research about the gut microbiome and how to make better food choices from his previous 2 books, ‘The Diet Myth’ and ‘Spoonfed’, both of which are also in my lending library.

Tim shares his experiences of self-testing alongside data from his health science research company ZOE about why everyone responds differently to food and why there is no one size fits all approach to dietary advice. There are handy tables at the back of the book detailing the health benefits of individual foods.

Back Care Awareness Week 2025 is here!

This year we’re focusing on the Stand:Stretch:Stride rule.

Many of us spend hours sitting at a desk or standing at work, which can lead to muscle weakness, joint stiffness, and back pain.

Sedentary lifestyles = major risk factor for conditions like osteoarthritis and osteoporosis.

But, the good news is that regular movement can reverse these risks.

A simple way to protect your back? The BCA’s Stand: Stretch: Stride rule.

Here’s what it means:

1️⃣Stand
Break up long periods of sitting. Stand regularly to keep your muscles engaged and your spine happy.

2️⃣Stretch
Release tension with regular stretches. Loosen tight muscles and improve joint mobility.

3️⃣Stride
Build walking and movement into your day. Short walks keep circulation flowing and energy up.

📚Lending Library Book Spotlight - Food Noise by Dr Jack Mosley.

Jack is the son of the late TV presenter and health journalist Dr. Michael Mosley, and is also a medical doctor. I listened to him speak at the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine conference this year and was impressed by his knowledge and confidence.

I decided to buy his new book which is all about the new fat-loss injection drugs (aka: Mounjaro, Ozempic), how they work, benefits, side effects/risks and how to use them safely.

Considering the number of patients I have at the moment who are taking them, are thinking of taking them or who have recently come off them, the content of this book is extremely valuable and well referenced.

It is quick and easy to read, please feel free to borrow it and make sure you sign it out using the form on the bookshelf in reception.
