Supporting children, young people and families across Leicestershire. We give support with education, mental health and wellbeing.

Offering face to face bespoke primary age tuition and wellbeing support, teen wellbeing support, training for parents and professionals (including online), beginner music tuition. Reach Education & Wellbeing offers a variety services which support children, young people, and their families. We aim to teach children, young people and their families the tools to manage stress and anxiety. With a certified Relax Kids coach, we deliver sessions in schools and local communities. We also offer bespoke education support for primary age pupils, including those with additional needs. In addition, music tuition is provided for beginners who would like to learn to play piano, cornet or trumpet.

😍 Feeling a huge sense of pride and a great deal of excitement about this one...

I get to watch on Friday evening. Feel like I know the songs as well as the kids must - the amount of times ive heard them being belted out from the teenager's bedroom over recent months. 🎤

👩‍💻This was my morning...

I had some 'office' time this morning whilst working from home so decided to spend some of that time researching and planning for the next Leicestershire Music project I'm leading.

😬 With a 14 year old, 'The Wiggles' passed me by, but I have loved getting to know some of their songs and getting ideas for fun music activities I can get the young children I'll be working with involved in.🎵

I can definitely say my work is varied and keeps me learning!!

1000 followers really is a milestone for my small business.🥳 Its been nearly 5 years since I dared to dream that I could leave a senior role in a school, that was all I knew, to create a successful, thriving business from scratch which has helped so many children and families, and which also helpfully pays the mortgage. 🤩

Today, 1:1 tuition after school was all about coral reefs! 🪸

Keeping children interested and engaged is key to their progress and maintaining a love of learning.

Today we did this by using:

🖍Visual aids: Real photos of coral, creatures, seahorses and shoals of fish.

🖍Sensory Play: Creating "Jimmybob the baloon orbee fish".

🖍Writing: Connecting letters to the deep blue sea. Working on letter formation.

Learning shouldn't be just about hitting curriculum targets; as a teacher its my aim to support children to learn in ways that suit them, based on the things they're interated in.

🐠 I've definitely had to brush up on my knowledge about coral reefs since a pupil requested this as our new topic.

🏆 Success looks different for different children. It isn’t often about being the best or winning — it’s about effort, growth, and reaching personal goals.

I wanted to share what I see as success for some of the children I’ve been working with recently during 1:1 sessions.

Success looks like...
🌟 the child who barely said 3 words to me during our first sessions together, who now chats away telling me all about what they've been learning at school each week.
🌟 the child who despite being physically exhausted from anxiety, still wants to share with me that they're attending weekly rehearsals for a show they can't wait to be in.
🌟 the child who comes to me on many occasions feeling down and drained from school, laughing so hard they said 'Stop, I can't breathe' during one of our sessions.
🌟 the child who flat refused the put pen to paper when I first met them, who now writes me beautiful words and sentences about their special interests.

Did I mention I love my job? 💜 Its impossible not to when success is something I see every day in the children I work with.

🚶‍♀️If you've watched my stories...here's the update of how the rest of my day turned out.

In the end I made sure I did the things I knew would help to improve my wellbeing when it felt like there was a black cloud trying to creep over me today.😶‍🌫️

❤️‍🩹 Even when Im so good at helping others with their wellbeing, Im proof that even the 'experts' need to work on these things sometimes, just as much as any other person out there.

🤔 I'm genuinely not sure how I feel about Mattel launching 'Autistic Barbie'...

She has noise cancelling headphones, a fidget spinner, her eyes are (apparently) looking to the side, she has moveable elbows and wrists (to allow for stimming), and a tablet. She is also wearing 'loose fitting' clothes.

I'd love to know your thoughts? 📲 Do you think this is a helpful representation or a stereotypical one? Should we celebrate the release of these dolls?
