If today’s tough because your Dad’s no longer here, just know you're not alone. Whether it's your first Father’s Day without him or one of many, he’ll never be far from your thoughts.

Chuffed to bits to have received a nomination for Funeral Celebrant of the Year at this year's Good Funeral Awards!

It's a large field so might not come to anything but even to be nominated is massive!

Thank you to everyone who has supported me and trusted me to look after ceremonies for your family. That in itself means the world but to have it recognised on a national level has blown me away!

Amongst the thousands of 'Happy' Mother's Day' posts and wishes you see today, take a moment to reflect.

For some, this will be their first without Mam around. For many it will be the latest difficult reminder they're no longer with us.

The work Mam's put in from the moment you're born prepares you for days like this, whatever side you find yourselves on. Either to show your appreciation for their unconditional, sacrificial love or to utilise the strength they cultivated within you to get you through difficult times.

If you're one of the lucky ones, don't apply too much pressure on 'getting it right' with grand gestures. Just be there. Spend some time together and enjoy each other's company. Take stock of how fortunate you are to be in that position not just today, but EVERY day!

Spent a gorgeous, albeit "brisk" afternoon at Kiln Pit Hill this afternoon.

What looks like an arctic expedition from the photo was actually a beautiful memorial ceremony at The Snods Hall followed by an intimate and very appropriate committal service for a lady of the land.

A STUNNING part of the world and a lovely community! Thank you to all involved for making a city boy feel so welcome!

It is with great sadness we announce that Gary passed away suddenly at home on 6th October 2024, aged 60 years.

Gary was the son of the late Eddie and Ena and an amazing, much-loved brother too. Gary will be forever loved and greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

The funeral service will take place on 31st October 2024 at Mountsett Crematorium at 10:15am. All are welcome to celebrate Gary’s life after the service at the Sunniside Social Club.

Family flowers only please. Donations welcomed in Gary’s memory to the British Heart Foundation.

Gladys passed away on 13th September 2024 at home, surrounded by love, aged 104 years old.

She was the wonderful and adored Nana of all those that were fortunate to have been part of her life. Her warmth, kindness and strength, touched the lives of all who knew her.

Gladys will be forever loved and missed by all her family and friends.

The funeral service will take place at Saltwell Crematorium on Thursday 3rd October 2024 at 11.15am.

As Gladys loved flowers the family have advised all flowers are welcomed in Gladys’s memory.

Everyone is welcome back for light refreshments at Marigold Court, Gateshead, NE10 0DZ.

Top, top man and a lovely family 🏁

Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of supporter Steven Gill, whose funeral was held yesterday after his passing at the age of 59.

Steven was a registered organ donor and posthumously donated his heart, kidneys and liver to those in need.

Rest easy, Steven 🤍
