Great to be back in my treatment room this week, seeing clients and creating bespoke reflexology treatments. It has been a varied week from encouraging labour, the gift of a voucher so time to relax and enjoy the experience to managing stress and anxiety to general wellbeing. This variety keeps me engaged and enables me to continue learning and researching along the way.

I wanted to share with you a favourite podcast of mine, ‘The Calm Christmas Podcast’ with Beth Kemptom. A weekly podcast starting next week until 1st January. In Beth’s own words “offering a weekly calling back towards slowness and calm”. Beth suggests “Scheduling time in your diary, perhaps a hot bath Thursday night or wake up early Friday morning. Light a candle, listen in the darkness perhaps just with fairy lights on, write some things in your notebook or take us on a long walk at the weekend.” I'm looking forward to listening, probably cosy in bed, enjoying a herbal tea with notebook & pen to hand. I’d love to hear if you listen along too.

As we ease into the cosy Winter season and thoughts maybe of Christmas ahead, moments of calm await you in my treatment room, feel your shoulders dropping as you are gently reclined, allow your mind, body & spirit to rest for a time, to pause and take some slow deep breaths whilst you enjoy the benefits of reflexology. Nowhere else to be, nothing else to do...... I hope to see you soon.

Have a great weekend,

Festina Lente,

Time away at Center Parcs has allowed us all to rest, reflect and recharge. Time slowed right down - walking in the forest around our lodge, watching the Roe Deer nibble for food, unfazed by our presence. Mid-morning spiced lattes at Starbucks overlooking the lake, whilst the zip wire whizzed by as we listened to the excited whoops of joy. I enjoyed time to pick up a sewing project and finish a great book. With a couple of teenagers in tow, we enjoyed the pool - particularly the rapids and Cyclone! There was something for all of us. Home now and I'm looking forward to being back in my treatment room next week and seeing my clients.

My room awaits you,

Festina lente,

Over the past few years many of you will have met Whiskey - my little meeter & greeter! She knew my morning routine of preparing my treatment room ready for clients & would park herself in the hallway eyes firmly focused on the front door ready. She liked to say a gentle hello before pootling off back to the kitchen.

Over the past few months meeting & greeting has become less & less. Her zest for life easing away. She spent a lot of time asleep, however her built in treat radar never let her down, asleep to awake if she heard the rattle of the treat tin!

We knew in our hearts it was time to let her go & be re-united with John aka Big John who had her from a pup. So yesterday, with lots of love, Jon, Reggie, Toby & I around her, Whiskey slipped away peacefully at home with classic FM playing quietly in the background. We all had time to say goodbye, shed a few tears & be with her before we drove her, tucked up cosy & warm in her bed, topped with rose petals & flowers from mums garden, arriving at the Pet Cremation Service Whiskey was in comfort & style. Only the best for our special girl.

We will miss her greatly but she gave us plenty of laughs & leaves us with lots of memories & photos, she will not be forgotten.

Our heartfelt thanks go to Jen The Freckle Vet & PCS for your kindness & compassion, easing Whiskey over the rainbow bridge. If you are at a similar time with your beloved pet or starting to think about the end of life care then I can recommend all of the services I have mentioned & The Gentle Goodbye web site, lots of ideas & inspiration for making this time personal & special for you & your beloved pet.

Farewell Whiskey we love you xx

I’m just finishing a few bits & bobs before I take next week off.

I’ll be back in my treatment room w/c 2nd September & I look forward to seeing you soon,

Representing Livewell Health it was great to be at the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry yesterday providing reflexology for their staff. Based in their Wellness Room, a beautiful space for me to work from, enhancing the reflexology sessions I provided with an ambiance of calm & tranquility. Lovely to see a few familiar faces & new ones too, wishing you all well & hope to see you soon, thank you for having me, Claire x

Great to be back in Lichfield last Thursday for a CPD day - Introduction To Facial Reflexology.

To be able to experience the techniques was amazing & I felt so relaxed but also rejuvenated (thank you In-Spires Reflexology College & Elle Reflexology) I’m excited to see how I will incorporate this into my treatments. I may use it intuitively as per client making this a bespoke situation at the time, I haven’t decided.

I plan to research this further & practice! I’ve ordered some facial oils & cannot wait to get started with a few willing faces already lined up 🤩

Hope you’ve had a great weekend, I’ve enjoyed some time in the garden today, planting tomatoes & cucumbers with a little time to recline & snooze.

Have a great week & I hope to see you soon 💫

Happy Friday 💫

A special client this morning my Mum. Always lovely to see her & be able to spend this time together for her reflexology treatment. The vibe is chilled, candles lit with a subtle aroma of jasmine blossom, a reminder that Spring is in the air. Mum chooses her own play list which varies, her favourite is sounds of the 60’s playing quietly in the background. What would you choose? Silence is also an option for those that prefer this.

If you are looking to treat your mum or a mother figure in your life maybe a reflexology voucher may be an option. Time for them to relax, step away from all that they do day to day & a lovely thank you for all that they do in our lives - whatever our age 😊

Hope to hear from you soon,

Wishing you a lovely weekend,

Festina Lente

As I begin to wind down for the Christmas holiday I wanted to share with you that this week I received my certificate for Hot & Cold Stone Reflexology. This was a continued professional development (CPD) course & required case studies to be completed & submitted. Thank you to all my case studies for your willing feet & participation. I’ll update my website with details very soon.

I would also like to say a huge thank you for all your support during 2024, it is very much appreciated by me & I’m looking forward to seeing you all in the New Year.

Before I sign off I’d like to share a poem that I received from my friend Kim, it certainly raised a smile & I’m all for less hurries, worries, mess & stress this Christmas 🎄 thank you Kim x

Wishing you all a restful & happy Christmas,

Previous to my career change I worked as a secretary & a PA so when I was asked earlier this year to be involved in The PA Way Rock & Glow, an event for PA’s / Assistants I knew I had to be involved, to meet the PA’s / assistants of today, hear their stories & more importantly to offer reflexology tasters, some time to sit & enjoy the therapeutic touch that is reflexology.

It was so lovely to work alongside Elle Reflexology & RP Healing Therapies and all who were a part of the Popshop for the Rock & Glow Event. Being at Drayton Manor added a twist of adventure for the thrill seekers to round off the day!

Wishing you all a great week ahead… Festina Lente, Claire x

Enjoyed a planned day off yesterday, a day to slow down - Festina Lente (make haste slowly) something I encourage my clients to do too, to clear your mind of all there is to do & maybe pick up a hobby or something you enjoy. I love cooking - not so much during the week meals but cooking where I can really give some thought to, plan & buy the ingredients for that recipe.

For many years mum & I have got together for a cooking session. Mum digs out her Mrs Beetons - cookery & household management book, this usually gives us both a laugh, a book mum was gifted back in the 60’s.

I take pictures of our time together & I write a little blog that mum & I share so that we can look back & remind ourselves what we have cooked over the years & to inspire us for another time. Yesterday we cooked beef & root vegetable hotpot to be dished up with giant Yorkshire puddings - a new recipe to add to our repertoire!

This time together becomes even more precious as the years go by, cooking together has come to feel like a long slow dance whilst we chop, stir, slice & season, chatting & laughing usually with Rod The Plod (Rod Stewart) - mums other man in her life - playing in the background.

I hope you too have found some time this weekend for your long slow dance …..whatever that may be ###
