๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ”ฅ Year of the Fire Horse โ€“ Stay Strong and Bold
As we celebrate Chinese New Year, weโ€™re wishing all our patients happiness, prosperity โ€” and good health.

The Fire Horse is known for energy, independence, and boldness. Take charge of your health this year with a simple but powerful step:

โค๏ธ Check your blood pressure
High blood pressure often has no symptoms, but it increases your risk of heart attack and stroke.
โœ” Pop into the practice for a check
โœ” Use a home monitor
โœ” Ask us if you're unsure when yours was last checked

Be bold like the Fire Horse โ€” your health is your greatest wealth.

'Measles is a highly infectious viral illness that can spread very easily among people who are not fully vaccinated.'

The best way to protect against measles is to get vaccinated when invited. Children are offered protection as part of the routine vaccination programme in the UK. Declining vaccination rates mean that more people are at risk of contracting measles. Measles can lead to serious problems if it spreads to other parts of the body, such as the lungs or brain.

Problems that can be caused by measles include:
- pneumonia
- meningitis
- blindness
- seizures (fits)

Our practice nurses and GPs are here to talk with you about any queries or concerns you may have about vaccinations. We want to keep our population happy & healthy and prevent the spread of avoidable conditions.

Today is ๐Ÿ’™

A simple conversation can make a real difference. Talking about how we feel helps break the stigma around mental health and reminds us that none of us are alone.

If youโ€™re finding things hard, please know support is available. Reach out to someone you trustโ€”or speak to a member of our team.

Weโ€™re here to listen.

If you notice changes to moles on your skin, seek medical advice from a clinician at the practice.

Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common UK skin cancer, often appearing on sun-exposed areas like the face, head, and neck as a slow-growing, pearly, or red lump that may crust/bleed. Key signs include non-healing sores, new moles, or changing, itchy, or painful skin lesions.

Booked to have a blood test? There are steps you can take to make having a blood sample taken as easy as possible.

We are able to offer blood tests for patients who have a blood request form or who have consulted with a clinician at the surgery and been advised to book a blood test.

Bowel Screening kits, sent to everyone aged between 50 and 74, will now checked at a lower threshold. This means smaller amounts of blood in samples can be spotted โ€” helping to find signs of cancer earlier so that treatment is more likely to be successful.
