Our residents went out and about today with Andy and Trish and as they walked past O’Toole’s Cafe., they decided to pop into the cafe to get themselves a hot drink 😊.

However, once inside, Izzy and her team pulled together a few tables, invited them to sit down and then provided hot drinks and toast all round for absolutely free.

Their support and generosity towards us is truly amazing and they have supported us time and time again πŸ’―.

From the free breakfasts for all our residents who reach 6 months clean, sponsoring and purchasing our very football kit, making donations which has enabled to buy items we needed and to what happened today, nothing is to much and this cafe is everything community stands for ❀️.

They never want anything in return, they dont do it for social media, they do it because they genuinely care about others and we are truly grateful for their amazing support 😊.

All the staff are so welcoming, genuinely pleased for the lads who are working hard in their recoveries and we want to say thank you and share with others how amazing this cafe is...

Thank you Izzy, you are one of the most selfless people we have met and all your team are amazing.

We want to say a huge congratulations to our resident John, who is today celebrating 10 months clean and sober 😊.

This below photo captures the huge progress John has made and the transformation in him is unbelievable.

In these 10 months, John has captained our rugby team, he has played in all of our football matches so far and his levels of fitness he has achieved is remarkable πŸ’―.

John is an amazing person, he is applying himself fully to his recovery, always willing to help others in need and always has words of wisdom.

He is also a volunteer with the project, it's very important to John that he gives back and he is someone that is a valued member of our community.

We are so proud of him, he sets an incredible example for others and to see him today happy, content and thriving is what its all about ❀️.

Congratulations John 🎊.....

What an amazing journey so far....

We are delighted to share with you all that our resident Pete, is today celebrating 6 months clean and sober 😊.

What a transformation we have seen in this man, who he is today is a million miles away from the man who walked through our doors 6 months ago.

Pete has worked incredibly hard to reach this point today, his focus, determination and drive to be better has been amazing to see πŸ’―.

To see him smiling, leading by example and becoming a valued member of our community makes everything all worthwhile....

He has achieved so much already, but this man won't stop at that, a life in recovery can be whatever you want it to be, as long as you are prepared to work for it, and Pete is putting in that work.

Pete has worked closely with his support worker Will and they have made so much progress together in the past 6 months.

He has been amazing captain of our football team, his team talks inspire others and we couldn't think of anyone better suited to lead us on the pitch.

Congratulations Pete 🎊, we know this has been difficult at times, something worth having always is, but you are a shining example that we do recover ✨️.

6 months clean and sober...

On Saturday 8th November, we held our memorial football event when we played against Stay Strong United CIC, in memory of Callum Kinzett 😊.

The event was an amazing day, it was the perfect way to honour his memory, both teams put their heart and soul into the match and it was played in the way he would have wanted.

We held a minutes applause just before kick-off, Callums family were in attendance and we were delighted to have his nephew Lewis, who captained us on the day and his brother Steve who also played on our team ❀️.

A very special moment was at half time when Callum's daughter Dolcie-Mai, scattered some of his ashes in the centre circle, such an emotional moment and when both teams were united in sharing this moment together.

We raised over a Β£1000 on the day, of which every penny will go to Callum's family and the day was perfectly captured by Adam Neeves who took the most amazing photos.

We also want to thank Christ the King Football Club Junior Section for hosting the event, all the staff on the day were so helpful and they went above and beyond to ensure the day ran smoothly.

Thank you to Sean and the team at Stay Strong United who were fantastic opponents, they are a great service helping those with mental health issues and they won the game 1-0.

We are making this an annual event to ensure Callum's memory lives on, thank you to all who attended, your support means so much to ourselves, Stay Strong and most importantly to Callum's family πŸ’―.

We love you Callum and you will never be forgotten ❀️.

Forever 26.......

Good evening all. If this turns out to be a long post, please excuse me, but i need to clear up a point or two. We do not take table bookings. If i am l lucky enough to have no free tables and people willing to wait for one, we take a phone number and they kindly wait in their cars for the next available table. Now if you walk in and see empty tables please do not be offended if asked to wait, it is only because people have waited before you. Believe me neither myself or any of my staff have any notions about ourselves or the cafe. We are no better than any other small business doing our best to serve our customers in the best way we can. I genuinely love my job and look forward to serving you all tomorrow. Hope you have all had a great weekend ☘️

This is Rory...

And today he celebrates the amazing milestone of reaching 60 days clean and sober 😊...

This has not been the easiest of times for him, Rory has a lot to contend with, however, despite the stuggles, he has found the strength to keep fighting and has remained clean even when experiencing painful feelings.

Recovery isnt easy in them early days, you have to get through them, no matter how tough it is, and believe that things will get better ❀️.

This is exactly what Rory has done, he has gritted his teeth, found a way to navigate his way through some difficult moments and for that, he should be so proud of himself πŸ’―.

Congratulations Rory 🎊, 60 days clean and sober seemed unimaginable for you not so long ago, but here we are and here you are....

Doing the best you can to earn the right for a better future 😊.

Amazing πŸ‘.

Huge congratulations to Kieran, who is today celebrating 4 months clean and sober 😊.

There is such a big difference in Kieran this time around, having been in and out of recovery for a little while, he has come back to us and is more focused, more determined and most importantly, more acceptance around the things required to recover πŸ’―.

We are so proud of him, he is a lovely lad, a heart of gold and its amazing to see him apply himself fully to his recovery.

Congratulations Kieran, 4 months is incredible and we dont stop, we keep going and see where this journey takes you ❀️.

Huge congratulations to our resident James who has reached the incredible milestone of 10 months clean and sober 😊.

This has been at times at difficult journey for him which is totally expected but it has been such a rewarding one for him as he has turned his life around.

There has been a lot of change in James over these past 10 months, where he is now is a million miles away from where he was and can now look ahead to a brighter future ✨️.

He is an Arsenal fan, so its not all brilliant πŸ˜…, but joking aside, he should be proud of all he has achieved as we all are of him.

James, 10 months is literally incredible and you have come so far in your recovery journey, congratulations mate 🎊.....

It was nice to see him share this moment with Baylie today, its a great photo 😊.

We are absolutely delighted for our resident Adam Waring, who today celebrates 6 months clean and sober 😊.

The struggles this lad went through early on was intense, the mental turmoil he had about a life in recovery was evident in them early weeks.

However, he kept fighting, he kept moving forward and the change in him over these past 6 months has been monumental πŸ’―.

Adam works hard in whatever it is he does, his focus and drive are two of the most impressive things Adam has, he has been a wonderful resident, an absolute joy to work with and a credit to himself, his family and all those in recovery.

To see him today with a huge smile on his face is what recovery can bring, its more than just not using substances, its about finding ourselves, its about addressing our pain and understanding that we can recover ❀️.

Congratulations Adam, you are an unbelievably lovely lad, the work you and Pete have done together has been amazing.

6 months clean and sober 😊....

We have just had a brilliant afternoon at the cinema, as the whole project went to watch such an amazing film 'I Swear' 😊.

This film is incredible, not only is it funny at times, but its was extremely thought provoking and sad all at the same time. It really emphasis the importance of community and helping others like us, very much relatable for all our residents.

This was only possible because of Nicola from Pristine Clean, who kindly paid for everyone to go today, a truly amazing gesture and the support she has always shown us is overwhelming, thank you so much Nicola πŸ’—.

If you haven't seen this film yet, it is most definitely worth seeing, what a great afternoon and we all left there feeling the power of community πŸ’―.
