Men go through Menopause too - just maybe not in the way you think!

I was inspired to write this post based on listening to the podcast where they openly discuss the effects perimenopause is having on their relationship - if you haven’t already it’s well worth a listen

Men need educating too! our partners, brothers, sons, friends and colleagues

When they understand what’s happening to us, conversations get easier, support feels more natural, and relationships become more resilient

More awareness = better communication
Better communication = better outcomes for everyone

(Shout out here to my truly remarkable and incredibly patient fiancé for being my rock from the very start of this journey - not sure I’d of remained sane (ish) without him)

Most women don’t know this, but it could save your job!

In 2024 1 in 10 women working through Menopause LEFT their job!

It’s not just a job though is it? It’s so much more -

⚫️ Financial Health
⚪️ Social Health
⚫️ Emotional Health
⚪️ Physical Health
⚫️ Mental Health

So, just know. There is support out there if you’re struggling. Don’t give up……(unless of course you’re leaving your job to improve those things - and if that’s you congratulations - 😉 and enjoy)

Having ADHD means I can fluctuate a lot between burnout and being able to power through task after task. That doesn't mean I am broken or different, it means that I have learnt my way of working that's best for me!

This isn't helped by hormonal changes, but spending time learning and understanding how my mind works has made me able to work even better in order to provide the best support for my clients.

If you also have ADHD, try repeating this affirmation to yourself every morning. Remember you are enough just as you are x

A common misconception of peri-menopause is that it doesn't last long but it can be a lengthy process with symptoms that change and both increase or decrease in severity over time.

It's really important to understand that there is support out there for your symptoms if you are experiencing them and struggling to manage. From hormonal therapies to mental health support, there are ways you can get help.

As someone who is well-versed in navigating the medical system around peri-menopause, please message me for support or guidance around this. I am passionate about supporting individuals on their peri-menopause symptoms, I'm here to help.

Are you a woman in your late 30’s ➕??

Do you feel like your body & brain are not as they should be?

If so you might want to watch my latest YouTube vid which delves into what Perimenopause is and why it can feel so overwhelming for so many of us 😓

The video explains why PM can play havoc on our brain health and lists all of the 30➕ recognised symptoms that come with this transition. Link in my bio x

Having constant reminders of a condition whether it be through symptoms, medications or management in any way is a lot tougher than we might realise. It can be triggering to take medication, apply a cream or acknowledge thoughts and feelings related to a diagnosis that we cannot control.

Believe me when I say, I get it.

Whether it's navigating peri-menopause symptoms or facing ADHD burnout, it's a tough journey. I'm not always able to stay positive, it's exhausting.

One of my goals is to normalise the difficulties here, to sit in them with you and hold space for that. I understand the struggle, and I'm not going to brush it under the carpet or pretend it's not there.
