A moment that reminds us why compassionate, child‑centred care matters. 💙
Georgia, one of our paediatric nurses, recently received a message from a patient’s mum to say that her son, Brett, chose her as his “special person to thank” on Rare Disease Day. He even made her a gift, a LEGO heart set, to show how much her visits mean to him.
Georgia has six years of paediatric nursing experience and has been part of Lloyds Clinical for the past two years. She has cared for Brett for six months, visiting every two weeks.
What made the difference was the relationship they built together:
- Georgia explained every step in a way Brett understood
- Brett chose the games they played, helping him feel in control
- Through play and trust, each visit became a little easier
- His little sister, Ella, loved being involved too, proudly helping with observations in her blue gloves!
These small moments of connection are what transform clinical care into something children can feel safe with. And sometimes, it means being remembered in the most meaningful ways.
Thank you, Georgia and thank you to Brett and Ella’s family for sharing such a special moment.
