With permission of Laurence’s family:

Laurence Reid, a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather, passed away on Monday 8th December 2025.

Laurence will be remembered with deep affection for his steadfast love of family, his kindness, and the quiet strength he brought to those around him. He leaves behind many who will miss him dearly and cherish the memories they shared.

A funeral service to celebrate Laurence’s life will be held Friday 9th January at Holy Cross Church, Cowbridge, at 1:00 pm, followed by burial at Llanmihangel Church.

Laurence will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered always.

Our funeral director Carwyn and son Arthur, decorating the Christmas tree that we have donated to the Holy Cross Church for this year’s Christmas services.

For anyone wanting to remember a lost loved one this Christmas, please pop in to the church to write a message, a memory or simply their name on a Star, Angel or Heart decoration and hang it on the tree.

Unfortunately one of our vehicles was punctured driving past this drain cover this morning just outside the Cowbridge old hall entrance. So we would like to just let everyone know that we have put a cone on the drain to warn anyone driving up the high street.
If Cowbridge with Llanblethian Town Council could just stay in touch with us about retrieving it once the repairs have been made.

In Loving Memory of Priscilla “Cilla” Hiscock

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Priscilla (Cilla) Hiscock, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Thursday 30th October.

Cherished Wife of Monty, beloved Mother, Nan, Sister, and a dear friend to all who knew her. Cilla will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family and amazing Welsh Cakes.

Cilla’s funeral service will be held at Coychurch Crematorium on Tuesday 25th November at 2:45 pm. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate her life.
Family flowers only but donations may be given in lieu towards Marie Curie.

It is with much sadness that the family of Gloria Jenkins announce that a
much loved Mum, Nan and Gran passed away peacefully on the 18th of October 2025.

A funeral service to celebrate Gloria’s life will be held Monday 17th November at 1.15pm at Coychurch Crematorium.

Following the service, family and friends are invited to The Bear, Cowbridge.

Family flowers only. Donations to Gloria’s favourite charity Ty Hafan would be very welcome.

In Loving Memory of Robert Nigel Lane

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Nigel Lane on 21st October, aged 71.

A devoted father, treasured grandfather, and much-loved brother, Robert’s warmth, gentle humor, and steadfast kindness touched all who knew him. He will be remembered for the love he showed his family and the steady presence he was in their lives.

He is lovingly remembered by his brother Chris; his children, Rob and Ella; and his grandchildren, Sophia, Imogen, Brooke, Quinn, and Cooper.

Robert’s funeral service will be held at Coychurch Crematorium on Wednesday, 19th November at 3:15pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Prostate Cymru, in Robert’s memory.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to all who have offered their support and condolences during this time. May Robert’s memory be a blessing to all who knew him.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Geoffrey Alford, who died peacefully on the 23rd October, aged 91.

Geoffrey’s funeral service will be held at the Holy Cross Church on Thursday, 20th November at 13:30, followed by cremation at Coychurch Crematorium at 15:15.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

There will be refreshments at The Victoria Inn, Sigingstone after the funeral service.

Sadly this is so heartbreakingly true 💔 Just lately there are more and more drivers on the roads being impatient and trying to push in on the Funeral Cortège’s in between the Hearse and the Limousines with bereaved family members in, and even on funerals with our horses too.

This is happening to the point where accidents have nearly been caused because someone just wants to cut in or to cut through.

I appreciate we drive slower, but this is someone’s final journey, and this is done out of respect.

Whether this makes you 30 seconds, one minute or two minutes late for where you need to be, think about that person who has passed and the families that are following.

A final journey is so precious 💚

In Loving Memory of Derek John Boyd

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Derek John Boyd, who passed away peacefully at Y Bwthyn Hospice, Royal Glamorgan Hospital on Tuesday 7th October.

A beloved Father, Grampy, Brother, Uncle, and friend to all, Derek will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Derek’s funeral service will take place at The Holy Cross Church on Tuesday 4th November at 1:00 pm followed by a burial at The Limes Cemetery.

Family flowers only, please.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Y Bwthyn Hospice or Marie Curie Hospice.

Your love, support, and memories are greatly appreciated by the family at this time.

In Loving Memory of Dai Pritchard

Sadly passed away at the Marie Curie Hospice, Holm Towers, where he received the greatest care right to the very end.

He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
