Here's a mindful, regulating activity to do with your children today:
Go on a "Feelings Walk".
The feelings walk is designed to help children and adults build emotional literacy, regulation and self-awareness by creating a tangible, visual language for feelings. This makes it easier to identify, express and manage complex internal states.
It helps children (and many adults) move beyond 'good' and 'bad' to identify specific, nuanced feelings.
Labeling emotions reduces their intensity and lowers stress levels.
It also enhances self-awareness and self expression and importantly, normalises all emotions.
