As we have a lot of new babies signed up to attend our sessions over the next few months I though I’d say ‘hi’ to those of you who don’t already know me and tell you a little bit about how Willow River Gray happened.
I’m Jessica and this is me and my two children ❤️💙 For the last 17 years I’ve worked as a neonatal nurse across two of the local neonatal units, so I have a lot of hands on experience with babies. Back in 2021, having just finished studying a Masters as an Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, I had a moment of madness and decided to fill my new found spare time with starting a business. I’m passionate about ensuring babies have the best start in life, and through my job I’ve seen first hand the immense benefits of touch for both babies and parents. In order to deliver high quality classes, I’ve trained to be a baby and toddler reflexology instructor, a baby and toddler yoga instructor, a Waters Touch practitioner and have a diploma in teaching infant massage. Almost 18 months after I started delivering these classes, I moved to a different neonatal unit and decided to pause teaching whilst I settled into my new surroundings. Roll on to July 2024 when I realised how much I missed teaching parents and their new babies and decided to restart my classes.
Every baby is unique, and so are their needs and therefore I aim to offer friendly, baby-led classes open to ALL babies. Sessions not only include the practical aspect of massage, but also time for parents and babies to socialise, photo opportunities, keepsakes, sensory play and refreshments!
Thank you to all of you who have supported me so far by attending classes, recommending Willow River Gray and reminding me how mad I am for embarking on this as a ‘hobby’!
