👟More Movement Mini Games👟

Here at Astor Court Care Complex we try and make More Movement something fun and exciting, engaging and smiling with a whole host of More Movement Mini Games! These short and fun activities are perfect for all abilities and are designed to get everyone moving in a safe and gentle way.

From seated ball games, to quick reaction challenges, beanbag toss and mini bowling there's a whole list of games for every resident to enjoy.

Its all about having a laugh, staying mobile and joining in together for some healthy competition.

🎄⛄Elf Day At Astor Court!⛄🎄

We had a splendid time celebrating Elf Day with the residents this week! The lifestyle staff went all out dressing as santas helpers complete with bells and pointy shoes. The residents abolutley loved seeing the team transformed into Elves for the day, bringing quite a few big smiles and even some laughs.

In the afternoon we created a full festive movie experience with a screening of Elf! To add to the magic we went round with a Hot Chocolate Cart - complete with 4 different flavoured hot chocolates, squirty cream, mini marshmellows and sprinkles... the whole lot!

It was a cosy, christmassy afternoon filled with so many happy smiles and some whipped cream mushtaches.

☃🎄Christmas Fair Reminder - This Saturday! 🎄☃

We're so excited to invite everyone to our Christmas Fair this Saturday 2-4pm! Come along for a cosy festive afternoon filled with stalls, gifts, treats and plenty of Christmas cheer.

There will be:
Bake sale
Craft items
Festive gifts
Raffle
Stocking fillers
A lovely chance to get into the Christmas spirit and give your support our home.

Everyone is welcome! Bring your family, friends and come enjoy a little bit of magic with us and our residents!

The people living with us came together to honour Remembrance Day in a very special way.

We began the week by making beautiful poppy wreaths and creating a Remembrance wall, where residents shared their own memories and reflections of past Remembrance Days. Each story was a touching reminder of the courage and unity this day represents.

Together, we also painted individual poppies on canvas to form a stunning poppy field artwork - a symbol of remembrance.
We gathered all together to observe the two-minute silence, before watching the national service together on TV. It was a moving moment for everyone at Astor Court.

The lovely people living with us were truly pampered for National Spa Day! We transformed one of our lounges into a calm, candlelit sanctuary. Complete with soft music, relaxing scents and a peaceful atmosphere to really unwind for the afternoon. More relaxation at its best!

Everyone had the choice to enjoy a soothing hand massage or a fresh coat of polish and there were plenty of smiles as we all relaxed together. It was the perfect afternoon of self-care and serenity!

🔥🎆Bonfire Night Celebrations🎆🔥

We had a lovely night here at Astor Court, starting the morning off with a reminiscence session. Those living with us shared their favourite memories of Bonfire Night from years gone by - from roasting potatoes to watching firework displays to making their own toffee! Who knew we traded roasting potatoes on sticks to marshmallows!

In the afternoon, everyone got creative with a group firework painting activity! This was a travelling art piece and every resident got to take part in placing their own firework on the canvas. And what a beautiful masterpiece it has become! The painting will be on display in the upstairs dining room if you want to take a peek next time you visit.

🎃Halloween Spooktacular!🎃

Those living with us had a spook-tacular time at our Halloween party! The lounge was completely transformed with spooky decorations, cobwebs and balloons galore. We had all kinds of sweet treats and magic potion refreshments (also known as fizzy drinks in disguise) to really capture the resident's sweet tooth.

Everyone got into the spirit, and with staff also dressed up, the residents soon joined in! This was then topped off with some wonderful live music, the laughter could be heard all the way down the corridor. A truly fang-tastic afternoon for all!

Those living with us at Astor Court put their coordination to the test with a fun ball challenge... the goal was to get each ball into its matching coloured pocket!

There was lots of laughter and some healthy competition between our residents for the quickest time. Some very impressive aim makes the competition neck and neck, which made it even more fun! It's amazing how something so simple can bring out everyone's playful side.

We had the absolute pleasure of taking four of our amazing residents out for a tasty lunch at Sambucas, the portions didn't disappoint! Followed by a bit of browsing around the shops for some window shopping. Everyone really enjoyed the food, the beaming smiles and getting out and about together. It's always lovely seeing our residents making some memories outside Astor Court.

It was an absolute pleasure to be able to take the first group trip out of Astor since the new lifestyle team.. Take a peak..
