💛 Young Carers Action Day – Meet Katherine

When Katherine was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at just 17, her life changed overnight. But that moment also inspired something incredible - a decision to dedicate her life to caring for others.

Now working in care at just 19, Katherine has already helped clients rebuild their independence, supported people through difficult moments, and discovered a resilience she never knew she had.

Her story is powerful, inspiring, and a reminder of the compassion young people bring to the care sector.

Today was another extraordinary chapter in Jack’s remarkable story. 🇬🇧

At 102 years young, Jack received his British Empire Medal from the Lord Lieutenant - a truly special and well-deserved honour recognising a lifetime of dedication, service and resilience.

Back in 2020, Jack was officially awarded a Guinness World Record as the world’s oldest judo instructor at 97 years old - a title that perfectly reflects his discipline, determination and passion for inspiring others.

From world records to royal honours, Jack continues to show that age is no barrier to achievement. His smile says it all - proud, humble and still going strong.

❄️ Weather Update - Snow & Cold Conditions ❄️

With Storm Goretti forecast to bring snow, ice and very cold temperatures to our area tomorrow, we want to reassure our clients, families and carers that Aurora Home Care is prepared.

The safety and wellbeing of our clients and staff is our top priority. We are closely monitoring weather conditions and have plans in place to minimise disruption to care wherever possible.

If adverse conditions do affect visits, we will communicate directly with those impacted. We kindly ask everyone to take extra care when travelling, keep warm, and check in on vulnerable neighbours where possible.
