Wonderful to have been able to create the sensory tables for our local preschool disco fundraiser. I may have overdone the 8kg of homemade play dough though 😂Great seeing the children get stuck in and enjoying the experience.

I planted this Rose about 3 years ago. It’s barely done anything, until a month ago this new shoot emerged and in the last few days the bud has opened up into the most glorious huge bloom. It’s surprised and delighted me. It made me think about growth and healing, it does not happen over night. With the Rose I have continued to nurture it, watched it with curiosity, been patient, accepting and hopeful….and 3 years later it has decided it’s ready to bloom ❤️ An important part of play therapy is that a child works at their pace, accepting them where they are at, rather than expectations of when and how they should be. Within my sessions I see the child’s internal drive for healing and growth, they have the resources already within themselves, and supported within a safe environment, the creative tools to explore and the therapeutic relationship, I see them connect with their deeper true selves and their inner power and knowledge and witness true growth. It is a privilege to witness and I cannot think of a profession that could be more deeply fulfilling.

See where your doodles take you, I chose some minatures I was drawn to and placed them on my paper first, interesting then reflecting on how this influenced my drawings. Not sure I could have reached this destination and depth without their help. 🤗 Doodle workshop for adults coming up, 25th October 7pm, Cranbrook Kent.

I thought I’d share a little bit about the face behind Lotus Play Therapy…. Hi, that would be me, Victoria. From early on building meaningful relationships has been a focus within my work. This is when I feel most fulfilled, grateful and motivated, and have experienced an important factor for healing and growth. I have 13 year’s experience working with children and families, including seven years as a qualified Social Worker. As well as statutory roles, I have experience working in CAMHS, specialising in therapeutic assessment and intervention for Children in Care. This path lead me to experience the healing power of play within a therapeutic relationship. Feeling strongly connected to the values and qualities of the role I decided to undertake Play Therapy training in 2015. Working as a trauma informed therapist is an important focus of mine, and with attachment theory, the nervous system, neuroscience, and sensory integration being particular areas of interest. At the forefront of all my work is the belief in the importance of the therapeutic relationship and the felt sense of the child's experience, which I believe so much of the healing is anchored from. My Play Therapy path has been one of the most rewarding experiences, and I feel so grateful and privileged to work alongside each child’s unique healing journey. ​​

I also strongly believe that play and creativity has benefits for all ages, and have enjoyed evolving my work it adult workshops.
