I know I've already said my goodbyes, both on here and individually to so many of you, but I'm just saying a final cheerio now as this will be my last post.
My Daisy journey has been a wonderful one, and whatever happens next it will always be a huge part of me.
And it makes me so very happy to know that for so many of you it has been a huge part of your lives too, and with so many of you having made friendships that will stand the test of time.
Wishing you every happiness. Lots of Love,
Anna ###

As I am winding up the final bits and pieces of my business, and tying up any loose ends I have been enjoying posting a few of my favourite quotes and images. And this poem has to be right up there as one of my absolute favourites. So poignant, and never fails to bring a tear to my eye and a lump to my throat πŸ’œ

Your baby has been tightly held in your womb for nine months - it's such a shock for them to suddenly find themselves outside in the big open space that is our world. Containing them and carrying them in a sling or baby carrier is just one way you can help them to feel secure and comfortable. You're more likely to pick up on their signals, and it can really help with establishing breastfeeding.

Agree or disagree?

Personally I loved it, it was magical feeling my babies tucked away inside of me, stretching, moving, hicupping - even the jabs under the ribs. But I know that plenty of women don't feel the same way! 😁

Who ever would have guessed that I'd end up running classes on Zoom for 21 weeks? I certainly didn't!
Not exactly my preference, but I'm so grateful to have been able to do so. During the height of lockdown it really helped pregnant mums to feel supported and to still get the quality, live antenatal education they deserved, and for my mums and babies it kept them connected to each other as well as learning tools and techniques to help them navigate their way through early motherhood while making beautiful memories.
And the bonus for me was that it was like meeting with lovely groups of friends every week!

My last Infant Feeding Workshop, one I've loved running as the information shared always causes some jaw dropping moments, as well as making such a difference when baby arrives πŸ˜€

I've had a lovely time re-reading all the thank you cards I've received over the years!
I've been so blessed to have been able to support so many women, and to have enjoyed teaching classes that just have an extra special 'something' about them. I've been sorting out lots before I finish but will be keeping hold of this wonderful bundle of memories for sure 😊

Phew it's a scorcher!! Just sharing this advice to be aware of with little ones 😎

β˜€οΈ With the hottest day of the year due tomorrow, it’s important to make sure your little ones stay properly hydrated in the warm weather.

🌼 Young children have a higher proportion of body water than adults. They are also less heat tolerant and may be more likely to get dehydrated, especially when being physically active and in hot weather.

🌼 Encouraging children to drink fluids regularly is important as children may not remember to have a drink by themselves.
β €
🌼 Young babies might need more regular feeds in hot weather.

🌼 This might mean wanting to feed more at night too because they can't tell us they're thirsty.β €
β €
🌼 For young children it's best to stick to water.

🌼 If you struggle to get your little one to drink water regularly you can try giving them fruits with a high water content; watermelon, strawberries, grapefruit, pineapple, cranberries, oranges and raspberries are all good ones.β €
β €
🌼 You could also try giving frozen lollies to children made from plain water or very diluted fruit juice to help keep them hydrated. β €
β €
❌ It’s not a good idea to give ice cubes to children as they are a choking hazard.

The first time you feed in public it can feel a bit daunting, but honestly, nobody will see much at all! And add social distancing and you can be really sure that you can feed with confidence!! πŸ˜„

And if you want to find out loads more about feeding your baby I'm running my Infant Feeding Workshop next Sunday 9th August. It's on Zoom so you can join from anywhere! Thinking back today -18 whole years since my biggest baby was born! So much love for him, although it's not always been easy by any means! The baby years, the school years, and the teenage years (the least said about that the better πŸ˜†) We've been through fantastically good times and really tricky ones, but love for your children is unconditional.
I'm so proud of everything he's achieved and the young man he's grown into.

How is dad-to-be feeling about your upcoming birth?

Head in the sand?
Thinks it will all just 'be fine'?
Anxious as anything?
Will sit in the corner on his phone?
You don't need him anyway?

Wouldn't it be lovely to know that your partner was fully engaged in your birth journey? That he was on the same page, understanding your preferences and choices, able to be your advocate and your mouthpiece during labour, reminding you of some fantastic techniques, having the techniques to stay calm himself, and giving you understanding and effective support.

You'll both come away with all this and more if you come to my Active Birth Workshop on 1st and 2nd August. This is the last one I'll be running so please don't miss out! Ideally you should be at least 28 weeks pregnant, whether this is your first or fifth baby!
You don't even need to leave home - all run in two sessions of 2 hours on Zoom.
You'll also receive electronic handouts and follow up links to sources of support.
I'm offering Β£10 discount so just Β£60 per couple for 4 hours of information and techniques that will make a big difference to your big day.
