Could you spot these 4 subtle signs that show someone might be struggling with their mental health?

๐Ÿ”น Are they going through any significant life events right now?
๐Ÿ”น Are they turning down invites to things they'd normally attend?
๐Ÿ”น Are they drinking a lot (or using other substances)?
๐Ÿ”น Messaging you in the middle of the night?

November is Men's Health Month, which is such an important topic because men, in particular, find it harder to ask for help for mental health.

These signs might be easy to miss if you don't know what to look for, but starting a conversation doesn't have to be difficult.

๐Ÿ”ท Drop them a message
๐Ÿ”ท Invite them for a walk, a drive, a kick about in the park (it can be easier to have difficult conversations when you're side by side rather than face-to-face)
๐Ÿ”ท Arrange a catch-up for later that week.
๐Ÿ”ท Leave them space to share their feelings.

And if they aren't okay, let them know there are plenty of services ready to help!

Did you know that stress does more than just affect our minds?

It can affect our entire bodies, from our brains to our muscles and digestive systems.

The stress response puts our bodies into a state of fight or flight. Over time, this puts our organs under strain, particularly our heart, circulation, and digestive system.

Work... bills... a busy schedule... health... money... relationships.

Stress is something we're probably all too familiar with. It takes up our precious time and energy, and holds us back from getting on with what we need to be doing. This can then cause more stress and anxiety, causing an endless vicious cycle. Chronic stress can lead to a variety of physical and mental symptoms.

Phobias interfere with daily life. They can limit your ability to work efficiently, strain your relationships, and reduce your self-esteem.

โฐ Don't forget to put your clocks back 1hr tonight!

If the changing seasons, especially Autumn into Winter, cause you to feel flat or down, you may struggle with SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder).

The specific causes of SAD are unknown, but some factors are due to the reduced sunlight causing a drop in serotonin levels and a disruption of your circadian rhythm.

Some of the signs and symptoms of SAD are:
- Feeling depressed most of the time
- Losing interest in activities you used to enjoy
- Low levels of energy
- Problems sleeping
- Weight and appetite changes
- Difficulty concentrating
- Thoughts of su***de or death.

If you think you may suffer from SAD, perhaps it is time to ask for help.

This evening at 7 pm, I am lighting a candle for International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day to remember all the babies lost too soon and the families affected by this.

If you didn't know, this incredible week aims to help raise awareness of the impact of pregnancy and baby loss. It also highlights the importance of bereavement support for mothers and families.

Grief can be debilitating, confusing, and sadly, even feel shameful. I want you to know that I am here for you and here to listen.
