There's two sides to every story.... we just normally only look at one....

Are you so caught up in your side of it you are forgetting to consider how the other person feels? Are you missing some vital bits of information? Parts of the story?

Here's a simple activity you can use to explore situations in more depth and allow you to truly empathise and review a conflict without jumping in feet first and causing disharmony?

Having first started working with children over 25 years ago (ouch now I feel old) there's a big reason I started the Adventures of Brian.....

I meet so many children in therapy who really need a helping hand to explore feelings, and Brian is a big part of that

Children who are taught to talk about how they feel and develop emotional intelligence grow into adults who can.....

Brian just helps children and parents find the right words or opportunities

Parents sometimes contact me with concerns about their child's behaviour. In some cases behaviour issues can be caused by anxiety issues, however often they are created by children experiencing overwhelm or under-stimulation.

Children learn through play and exploration, and often, asking them to sit for prolonged periods, especially if they are an active child can cause behaviour issues or meltdowns. Breaking longer tasks up so that they achieve and feel successful can really benefit building concentration.Encouraging physical activity in small bursts, connecting with nature and getting out in the fresh air away from electronics can really benefit children who need to connect, talk and explore to let their brains feel better.

Is there a right way to feel right now?

Is it ok to be petrified?
Is it ok to be excited?
It is ok to be wondering what you feel?

The last year has thrown curve balls at everyone, all of different shapes and sizes. We all remain in our own boats, canoes, yachts and dinghies in a storm - that has not changed. The storm has changed direction, but it is not yet over, and some people's boats are further ahead in the exit route than others.

So, what's next?
