💙 We’re in it to win it!

A giant blue token arrived at Wishing Well to share some amazing news — we’ve been chosen as one of three local good causes in the Tesco Blue Token Scheme! 🎉

Every blue token you pop in our box helps fund much-needed equipment for our Supported Adults Service, supporting some of the most vulnerable adults in our community 👌

We’ve been out and about on a token trail adventure to explore all three Tesco Stores, snapping photos along the way and chatting to customers and guess what 😃 we even caught someone in the act of voting for us! 💪🏻💙

Voting closes at the end of December - plenty of time to shop and drop your blue tokens in our box 🗳️

💛 Little hands and little feet, this is where our hearts did meet 💛

How could we not share this little munchkin story!

A few weeks ago, some little ones from Little Steps Nursery popped into the George’s Community Hub after a busy morning exploring the park, they needed a quick bathroom stop, and of course, we were more than happy to help.

It was such a simple moment, but it opened the door (literally!) to something really special.

Last week, we had a lovely surprise visit from the children and their teachers. They arrived with big smiles and generous hearts, bringing along donations they had collected for Harvest Festival to share with our community.

We were genuinely touched by their kindness and thoughtfulness. Watching the children proudly present their gifts, and hearing some of them chat so confidently about what they like and what they do, truly melted our hearts.

A huge thank you to Little Steps Nursery for your generosity and for reminding us what community spirit looks like. We can’t wait to welcome you back to the Hub again soon. 💛🌾

S.A.S. Does ABBA! 💃🕺

Our team enjoyed a brilliant night at the ABBA Experience at Crewe Hall Hotel & Spa, full of laughter, singing, dancing, and good food. From start to finish, the room was filled with loads of energy.

Thank you to all the teams at Crewe Hall for hosting such a wonderful evening, great job 👌

We may be a little hoarse this morning, but that’s the ultimate sign of a fantastic night!

It’s moments like these that remind me how important it is to step away from the day-to-day, spend time together, and simply have fun. Team building, letting your hair down, and strengthening those bonds that make working together so rewarding.

Here’s to more laughter, more music, and more moments that bring our team even closer. 💛

Not afraid to get stuck in! 💪

Just a few weeks ago, I invited Nick & Royston to meet over a coffee at Crewe Hall Hotel & Spa to chat about the work we do at Wishing Well.

A simple, friendly conversation quickly turned into a chance to visit and see our work in action.

Today, that visit became a reality as we welcomed Nick to The Wishing Well. (Sadly, Royston couldn’t make it this time due to another engagement.) Nick took the time to chat with our teams, learn more about our services, and even rolled up his sleeves in the kitchen to help dish up hot meals for our Meals and Welfare Service.

We’re really grateful for Nick taking time to visit and genuine interest in the people and purpose behind what we do. A great morning filled with great conversations and all round laughter too ☺️.

Shaping Futures Through Opportunity 🌱

Investing in young people means giving them real opportunities to grow, lead, and shape their own futures. This week at The Cheshire & Warrington Pledge Partnership Careers Event, held at Cheshire College - South & West, we got to do just that.

This was a brilliant opportunity to raise awareness of The Wishing Well Project whilst running an interactive session that encouraged students to think about what employers look for when hiring and to start shaping ideas about their own futures.

We also shared the opportunities Wishing Well offers, including volunteering roles and work placements. It’s about helping students understand how these experiences strengthen their CVs and what future employers will be looking for when they apply for jobs.

I was especially proud of Lucy from our supported adults team ✨ This was her first opportunity to step up, to build her confidence and skills as part of her personal development, whilst inspiring others. Mentoring and developing our younger colleagues, and creating opportunities for them to be involved in leading our future events with young people, is not only inspiring but also vital as we continue to invest in our team.

The room was full of energy, with businesses, colleges, universities, and charities all coming together to support the next generation. It was also great to reconnect with long-standing partners like Balfour Beatty where our relationship began at this very event four years ago.

A great day, great conversations, and some fantastic students who left with a better understanding of who we are and what’s possible for them.

Rolling up my sleeves 😁

It’s holiday season, and like many leaders, this is when we roll up our sleeves and step in to support. It doesn’t happen every day, but it’s an important part of how we work together.

Last week, we picked apples in the garden, took photos in the park, (prep for project world photography week)👌. We tried a little meditation, and even collected pine cones. Later, we turned fresh ingredients grown in our garden, tomatoes, onions and garlic into bruschetta with garlic bread. A simple but meaningful way to connect.

What struck me most wasn’t just the activities, but the energy and care the team bring into everything they do. When they popped into the office with their creations, it showed me again how much fun, creativity and commitment they share with one another.

For me, it reinforced that leadership isn’t only about strategy and delivery, it’s also about stepping in when needed, creating space to connect, and building the kind of culture where people look after each other. That’s where the real strength of teamwork lies ☺️
