🍽️Why Eating Slowly Is a Game-Changer

Ever finish a meal and feel stuffed... but somehow still unsatisfied?
When we eat too quickly, our body don't have time to register fullness.

It takes about 20 minutes for your brain to get the signal that you've eaten enough.

What happens when you slow down:
✨ You actually taste and enjoy your food more
✨ You feel satisfied with less
✨ Your digestion works better
✨ You tune into what your body really needs

This is exactly why Mindful Eating Moments are step 2 in our 3-2-1 protocol this week.

Try to slow down for breakfast and dinner (or lunch & dinner). Aim for 20+ minutes each.

⭐Try these simple techniques:
Put your fork down between bites
Chew each bite 15-20 times
Take sips of water between portions
Really notice the taste and texture (no screens!)
Stop when you're 80% full. You'll feel satisfied in 10 minutes

It's a simple shift, but it can completely transform your relationship with food.

If you'd like to get all the information on Week 1 Nourish & Balance, it's available in my Facebook group - you'll find the link in the comments.

Who else is noticing a difference when they slow down? 👇

Back in June, I forgot to record a full 60-minute presentation I was running for an ME/CFS group. I had to record the whole thing and send it out to them via email!

Lesson learnt - I now record a "rehearsal" of each presentation I do, just in case I forget to hit that button in my excitement of getting started.

Sadly I am having to cancel tonight's From Bloated to Balanced Masterclass, for personal reasons.

Fortunately, I have recorded myself practicing this morning. It's a bit wooden, so my apologies. But if you'd to watch it, please pop a comment below or DM me and I'll send you the link.

Who else feels like their hunger signals are completely out of sync? 🙋‍♀️

Like, you'll eat a full meal and be hungry again an hour later. Or you'll go all day without feeling hungry, and then suddenly you're STARVING and make terrible food choices.

It's so frustrating when your body doesn't seem to know what it actually needs.

I've been learning about how our GLP-1 hormones affect hunger and satiety signals. Honestly, it's been a game-changer understanding WHY this happens and what we can actually do about it naturally.

Drop a 🙋‍♀️ if this sounds familiar.

P.S. - If you're curious about the GLP-1 connection, I'm diving deep into this in my Nourish & Balance: GLP-1 Edition course. Comment if you'd like access to week 1 for free.

"My cravings are out of control"
"I don't have the energy I use to"

I keep hearing these comments from women in their 40s, 50s, and beyond.

I get it ... I've been there too.

One of the things that made a big shift for me was increasing my GLP-1 hormone level - naturally.

GLP-1 is your body’s natural appetite and blood sugar regulator. When it works well, it supports balanced weight, steadier energy, calmer cravings, and even clearer thinking.

But when it’s suppressed: by stress, menopause, poor sleep, or ultra-processed foods, everything feels harder.

That’s why I created Nourish & Balance: GLP-1 Edition.

It’s a 6-week course designed to help women naturally increase their GLP-1 levels through food, lifestyle, and sustainable rhythms.
This isn’t about hacks or quick fixes.

💪It’s about giving your body back its natural signals - so that health feels aligned, not forced.

I wanted to create a space where women could:
🌱 Learn what actually boosts GLP-1
🥗 Build meals that support hormones and energy
💤 Use rest, light movement, and rhythm as medicine
💖 Feel in control again, but in a way rooted in grace, not striving.

If you’ve been curious about how GLP-1 affects you, this is the path I wish I’d had years ago.

👉 Comment “balance” below and I’ll share more details with you.

When you hear about GLP-1, your mind might jump straight to the latest weight loss injections like Ozempic or Monjaro. These medications are actually synthetic versions that mimic your body’s own GLP-1 hormone.

When actually, GlLP1 is a natural hormone your body produces every day.
And it does far more than just influence weight.

This powerful little messenger plays a huge role in your overall health and wellbeing.

Here are some of the key benefits of supporting your GLP-1 levels naturally:

🩸 Better blood sugar balance – helping to avoid energy crashes and keep your mood steady.

🍽️ Reduced cravings and appetite – making it easier to feel satisfied with nourishing foods.

💓 Improved heart health – GLP-1 supports healthy cholesterol and blood pressure.

🧠 Sharper brain function – linked to memory, focus, and reduced risk of cognitive decline.

🌙 More energy and vitality – when your body runs smoothly, everything feels lighter.

The best part? You don’t need a prescription drug to experience these benefits. There are simple, natural ways to boost GLP-1 production through food, movement, and lifestyle shifts.

I’ve put together a new blog post to share some tips with you👇 https://payhip.com/DebbieDeanNutrition/blog/weight-loss/mounjaro-prices-are-rising-5-natural-ways-to-boost-your-glp-1-right-now

I posted on Sunday, asking what everyone’s ideal diet was.
So interesting to read all your comments.

For most people - knowing what they should be eating and actually doing it are two very different things. Primarily because our eating is mostly guided by our not-so-rational brains.

Our emotions play a big role in our choices. That’s why we’re spending a whole month working on emotional eating over on Nourish Elevate.

If you want to break your cycle of emotional eating - pop me a little dm, and I’ll pop you back some info .
