✨ This week at Creative Action Team✨
It’s been one of those weeks where you pause and think this is exactly why we do what we do.
In the groups, children explored what it means to be a good friend by creating friendship masks - a chance to reflect, express emotions safely and celebrate individuality in a way that felt playful and pressure-free.
We’re also proud to say that in alt prov AQAs have been achieved across Art, Wildlife, Geography and History, with learning happening naturally through curiosity, collaboration, conversation and hands-on experiences rather than demands and deadlines.
There’s been lots of creativity, building, problem-solving and imaginative play, with children following their own interests - whether that’s designing, constructing, researching, or quietly creating in their own way.
💛 Why a low-demand, playful approach works so well for neurodivergent children and young people.
It removes unnecessary pressure and expectations, allowing children to:
• feel safe and regulated
• engage at their own pace
• communicate in ways that work for them
• take genuine pride in their strengths
When children and young people aren’t overwhelmed by constant demands, they’re free to grow, express themselves, and show us who they really are. Confidence builds. Learning sticks. Talents shine.
Every child’s interests are valued here - not despite their differences, but because of them. And watching those individual sparks turn into meaningful learning moments is the best part of our week ✨.
