Residents at Alexandra Mill enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of Living Lingo with Liz from Languagagility πŸ‡«πŸ‡· .

Todays session focused on "A la Ferme" exploring life on a french farm. There was lots of speaking, singing, beret wearing and laughter - all in French- finishing with a rousing rendition of "Frere Jacques."

These sessions are fun, uplifting and take us on a joyful journey through France. πŸ’™πŸ€β€οΈ

WE have celebrated Burns Night with some wonderful Scottish dancing. Dancers from the Sandbach and District Caledonian Society treated us to traditional reels and jigs, getting residents, families and the care team involved - even encouraging us up onto the floor to dance along !

A very enjoyable afternoon full of toe-tapping, smiles and happy faces all round.

Residents at Alexandra Mill enjoyed a lovely afternoon with Lisa from Hoppy Guinea Pig Holidays. Lisa brought along two of her guinea pigs, Lola and Snuggles, and residents delighted in holding them and asking questions about their care and personalities.

The visit brought lots of happiness and was a wonderful reminder of how pets can bring out the very best qualities in us.

Residents of Alexandra Mill enjoyed an energetic afternoon of sports and exercise with Caroline from RISE. The session focused on football skills , including passing the ball and activities designed to encourage upper body movement. The residents worked in teams to see which team was able to get their ball over the line first.
Residents developed their hand-eye coordination whilst showing their competitive spirit. The afternoon was both fun and engaging for all taking part.

Residents from Alexandra Mill enjoyed a delightful day out with Myley Tours, visiting Congleton Museum. During the visit, they explored the town's rich history, with a particular focus on its strong links to the textile industry. They also discovered the fascinating story behind why Congleton is known as "Bear Town."
After spending time in the museum, everyone enjoyed a welcome coffee and some relaxation in a local coffee shop.

Today at Alexandra Mill, the residents, families, the care team and all of Kelly's housekeeping team came together to wish her a fond farewell as she begins an exciting new chapter in her career.
Kelly is leaving us to pursue a role within the ambulance service. We thank her for her dedication and hard work and wish her every success and happiness as she embarks on her new job.

Today at Alexandra Mill, we celebrated what would have been Elvis Presley's 91st birthday with a wonderful Musical Moments session. Residents enjoyed listening to many of Elvis's greatest songs, took part in a fun picture quiz guessing the song titles and films, and joined in with some gentle armchair exercise using some fun props. The session was full of smiles, leaving everyone feeling happy, uplifted and exhilarated 🀩⭐️🎼πŸͺ‡

We rang in New Year's Eve with plenty of fun and laughter as residents and the care team celebrated together.
A heart-warming award ceremony saw everyone receive a certificate for their best qualities, followed by a glass of fizz , and a cheerful rendition of Auld Lang Syne.

Residents and the care team at Alexandra Mill were delighted to receive a generous donation of Chocolate Santas.
Ryan from Boughey paid a visit, bringing along over 100 of these festive treats to share with everyone.
Home Manager Stephanie Sheer and Activity Coordinator Katie Rigby are pictured receiving this wonderful donation.
