Residents at Alexandra Mill enjoyed a wonderful afternoon with Gareth and David from Memory Makers. 😊

During the session, residents chatted about the jobs they had throughout their lives, what cars they had owned and shared memories of their favourite music. There was plenty of laughter during a fun music quiz, with everyone joining in and testing their musical knowledge. 🎼

The afternoon also included exploring a variety of aromatherapy scents, from freshly cut grass to the scent of lemons 🍋 , the scents instantly triggered memories and sparked lots of lovely conversations and stories.

A truly enjoyable afternoon for everyone involved.

Residents at Alexandra Mill shared a wonderful afternoon of dance with Diane and Tom from Buttermilk dance studio💃🕺

Everyone had great fun moving to favourite songs like "These Boots are made for Walking" and Petula Clarke's "Downtown". By the end of the afternoon we were all getting quite skilled at the Hand Jive and even the Twist.

There were plenty of smiles, laughter and great moves all round.
A big Thankyou to Diane and Tom for bringing such energy and joy to our afternoon. We're already looking forward to the next dance session! ✨

What a wonderful afternoon the residents at Alexandra Mill had, enjoying time painting their chosen piece of bisque pottery. Whether they selected a trinket box or a fun little car, everyone embraced the opportunity to be creative and simply have fun.

Conversations and laughter filled the room as everyone admired each others progress, and encouraged one another.

By the end of the session, each unique piece reflected not only individual creativity but also the warmth and sense of community shared throughout the afternoon. It wasn't just about painting pottery - it was about connection, self expression and enjoying a truly special time together. 🧡

When Alexandra Mill first opened, we were proud to achieve the Six Steps End of Life Accreditation, recognising our commitment to delivering high-quality palliative and holistic care.

Today, we are delighted to share that following a recent portfolio review, Alexandra Mill has once again successfully achieved this accreditation.

A massive well done to Frances for all of your hard work and dedication in securing this achievement, alongside our Home Manager Steph. Your commitment ensures we continue to provide compassionate, person-centred end-of-life care to those who need it most.

We are incredibly proud of the whole team for maintaining such high standards of care.

What a lovely way to celebrate Pancake Day at Alexandra Mill !🫓

Residents enjoyed delicious pancakes with their favourite toppings today.
So ........... what would your favourite topping be ?
🍋 Lemon and sugar
🍓 Strawberries and cream
🍫 Nutella
There were plenty of smiles as residents reminisced about cooking pancakes for their families, bringing back fond memories.

A simple treat, shared stories, and sweet moments together💛

Residents here at Alexandra Mill enjoyed a wonderful afternoon with Sharon from Hullabaloo.
Todays session focused on upper body movement, precision and moving in time to the music. Residents were delighted to take part, enjoying a selection of upbeat songs that had everyone smiling. The lively music and energising exercises left residents feeling happy, uplifted and exhilarated.
It was fantastic to see such enthusiasm and participation from everyone involved.

What a wonderful time we had at Bridgemere Garden Centre 🌿🌼. So many beautiful plants all ready for Spring planting, lots of lovely shops to wander through, and the perfect finish with tea and cake🍰🫖☕️.
We couldn't have asked for a nicer day !!

What a wonderful afternoon we had with one of our favourite singers, Britt, here at Alexandra Mill !
Britt took us on a musical journey around the world,🌏 from Germany to the USA and beyond, with songs full of happy memories.🎶
Our residents were tapping their toes, clapping their hands and singing along too - it was a joy to see so many smiling faces!💛

🌼Floral Fun at Alexandra Mill🌼
Residents and Families enjoyed a lovely floral demonstration from local florist Elaine from Petal Power. Elaine talked us through each display that she put together, talking about each flower she used and shared how she works as an environmentally friendly florist, using sustainable products.

It was a really informative and enjoyable afternoon, and residents loved learning more about the beautiful flowers 💐

Residents at Alexandra Mill enjoyed a delightful afternoon of
"Care aoke"with the Micwire choir. Choosing their favourite songs to sing along to, from We'll Meet Again to The Power of Love, there were smiles all around.
This was our first collaboration, and we're already looking forward to hosting this event again very soon.

Residents at Alexandra Mill enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of Living Lingo with Liz from Languagagility 🇫🇷 .

Todays session focused on "A la Ferme" exploring life on a french farm. There was lots of speaking, singing, beret wearing and laughter - all in French- finishing with a rousing rendition of "Frere Jacques."

These sessions are fun, uplifting and take us on a joyful journey through France. 💙🤍❤️
