Mindfulness Foraging Walk with

We still have some tickets available for our Mindfulness Foraging Walk at Kinnell Estate next Sunday 12th at Bo'ness

I am so looking forward to being back at Kinnell Estate next week. It's a beautiful space, and the Spring greens will be in abundance.

We will take a slow gentle mindful walk using our senses to explore the world around us then gather some spring greens and create some delicious nutritious pesto.
There will also be some delicious Wild garlic treats to be sampled too.

We managed to avoid the storm on our Wild Garlic Forage and Ferment workshop this morning.
The sun was shining and we enjoyed a slow forage for Wild Garlic, Cleavers and we also found some Usnea on our travels.
We created some delicious Wild garlic and Cleavers ferments!

A visit to my allotment this morning, getting excited about the growing season ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒฑ

I also love seeing my flowering currant (Ribes Sanguineium) and it's ready to harvest to make some delicious cordial!

I always make sure I keep some for the bees too, and spotted my first bee this morning, which I was so excited about.

Here's a lovely delicious recipe to enjoy, it's really refreshing and delicious โค๏ธ

๐ŸŒธ Flowering Currant Syrup

Great for cocktails, lemonade, or drizzling over desserts.
Ingredients:
2 cups fresh flowering currant blossoms (no stems)
2 cups water
1ยฝโ€“2 cups sugar
1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions:
Rinse flowers gently to remove dirt/insects.
Bring water to a boil, then pour over the blossoms.
Cover and steep for 12โ€“24 hours.
Strain out flowers using a fine sieve or cheesecloth.
Add sugar and lemon juice to the liquid.
Heat gently until sugar dissolves (donโ€™t boil hard).
Cool and store in the fridge (keeps ~2 weeks).

Use it in sparkling water, cocktails, or even over pancakes...it's delicious

Wild Garlic season is well on its way, the green carpet is an amazing sight, and smells absolutely divine.

Filled my basket and made some Spicy Zheoug inspired by Wild Garlic Week.

Then made the classic Wild Garlic Pesto. It was so delicious my daughter ate half a jar after her breakfast.

Next I am making lacto fermented wild garlic, for my workshop on Sunday 29th March.

So after my sunny holiday I was desperate to go in search of the abundance of Wild Garlic that appears this time of year.
The green carpet smelt lush and I had a good nibble walking round.
Tomorrow I am back to collect my first batch to make Wild Garlic pesto, and some lacto fermented garlic leaves.

Wild Garlic Forage and Ferment

Wild Garlic is finally here, the smells is delicious and I am so excited to be stocking up on everything wild garlic over the coming weeks.

Why not join me for a Wild Garlic Forage and Ferment to learn how to identify Wild Garlic, and create a delicious wild garlic ferment.
The morning will be spent learning how to identify this beautiful Spring Green, foraging and making our own ferment to take away.
