As the year draws to a close, it’s common to think of the people who are special to us – especially those we've lost. That’s why we’ve chosen to take part in Light a Candle.

From 15 to 21 December we’ll be posting digital candles in memory of those who can’t be with us during the festive season. If you’d like to create a virtual candle, please click the following link where you can choose a design and write a short message to a loved one.

There's no cost for you or your family to get involved and create an online memorial.

Over the weekend, Funeral Director, John Gordon, ably assisted by our newest member of staff, Emma Crerar, had the utmost privilege of overseeing the funeral service of a young Benedictine Monk, sadly taken too soon from his loving family and many friends.

The location of the service, Pluscarden Abbey, founded by King Alexander ll in 1230, and situated just outside Elgin, is the only medieval British monastery still being used for its original purpose, and as you can see from the image below, is absolutely spectacular.

Every funeral is unique, and reflects the personality, culture, religion, and wishes of the person who has passed away, and here at Gaulds, we take immense pride in facilitating those wishes to the very highest of standards.

We’re pleased to announce the return of Light a Candle this Christmas!

Taking part in this Christmas’s Light a Candle gives you the opportunity to create online memorials throughout the festive period.

Christmas is a special time to celebrate with family and friends, and our virtual candles are a thoughtful way to pay tribute to loved ones who are no longer with us.

We'll be sharing virtual candles on our page between 15 and 21 December. There's no cost for you or your family to get involved and create an online memorial.
