It can help to balance and harmonise all aspects of the mind, body and spirit. Reiki came to me late in life but has had a profound impact on me. It taught me to look inwards to find my true self. It gave me a calmness and a grounding that I had been searching for most of my life. I trained with two very lovely Reiki Masters who had very different approaches to their teaching and I feel I benefited greatly from their diversity.

TODAY'S UPDATE
Well that's the month of February nearly over and I am still not able to move back into my wee practice. The ceiling is proving to be more of a problem than at first thought and the leak continues. My landlord and the builder are hopeful it may be fixed next week but I have no absolute assurance! I cannot deny that it is proving to be quite a stressful time for me.

Starting a new business is always challenging and the last 9 months have certainly been that! Moving twice was not ideal for a new business but then having to empty the shop completely and close after such a short time has knocked me for six.

I am trying to remain positive and hang onto my usual thoughts of "what's meant for you won't go by you" and "everything happens for a reason". Living by the Reiki precepts helps ground me and in the grand scheme of things my problems are small.

Anyway, that's my news for now. Have a great weekend everyone, the sun is out here in Crieff and just for today I am grateful for that 🙏

Reiki found me when I needed help. I'd come to a crossroads and didn't know which path to tread. A turbulent and anxious few years had taken its toll and I was looking for some calm amongst the chaos. My path crossed with two Reiki masters at just the right time. Fortuitous serendipity? I don't think so. I truly believe it was something more profound than that. They were the safe port in the storm, the guiding light in the dimness, the mentors who guided me with kindness, compassion and encouragement towards becoming a Reiki Practitioner. Just for today............ I am grateful to have crossed paths with them 🙏

I've made the most of being off today. Normally it would be a walk in nature but there was zero enthusiasm for going out in that! Even Meet Montgomery was reluctant. Truth be told it's been a while since I did that and it's beginning to tell on my mood and my waistline 😕 Roll on the brighter, longer days! The strap on my fit bit snapped months ago and I haven't replaced it. It did tend to keep me motivated lol. Note to self - buy another one PDQ!

However, all was not lost, I got caught up with housework instead and I made some carrot and coriander soup.

I like being in the kitchen preparing food. I find it therapeutic. I cook from scratch most days. The prepping has a calming effect and it's a bit like a time out zone. It concentrates the mind on just the one thing (not cutting one's fingers off mostly) and quietens the mind from the usual constant chatter!

Other than that I also like colouring in and I spent 2 hours today on this mandala. Colouring in is also very therapeutic and I would recommend it to anyone suffering from overload, a very good way to chill if you find meditation difficult.

TODAY'S UPDATE
I spent the afternoon in my wee practice packing up my stock and emptying the window in preparation for the new ceiling to be fitted, hopefully next week. I was a bit sad truth be told as I was just settling in to my new premises and enjoying seeing clients for Reiki and providing stock to customers looking for things just that little bit different. Then nature had other ideas and the rain came in! So it's back to the beginning so to speak - For a short while!

Hello, Reiki Life remains temporarily closed. The roof seems to have stopped leaking but the ceiling needs time to dry out before new plaster board can be put up. I am hopeful this will be within a few days 🤞

I am missing being at my wee practice. Since moving there from the larger premises last autumn, I have felt very settled and knew straight away the move was the right one for me. Sometimes the Universe has plans for us that we just need to go with and in this case I'm glad I did, despite the current difficulties!

Anyhoo, that's my little update. If you could share it I would be grateful to let folks know this is only a temporary situation and I will be back open ASAP.

Well that was the week that was!

REIKI LIFE IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED

Reiki Life HQ has had a few problems from the start it is fair to say.
Just now it is water ingress. The practice has a few leaks. The bathroom was bad enough with a constant drip that is defying everyone and remains unresolved! Now the ceiling in the front shop came a tumbling down on Friday. I think we can agree the rain over the last month has been horrendous! So unfortunately I am unable to open until all has been repaired and made safe again.

I am hopeful that once the ceiling has dried out it can be replaced and painted toot sweet and I will be open again before you know it.

In the meantime, if there is anything specific you wish to purchase let me know and I can be at the practice anytime as I live in Crieff or I can deliver locally.

Good afternoon from Reiki Life HQ. I am delighted to share that I have won the Friends of Macrosty Park "Best Dressed Window" Christmas 2025 competition.

Thank you to everyone from Friends of Macrosty Park who came along this morning to officially tell me and to present me with the most beautiful bouquet and a voucher for a meal for two at Crieff Hydro Brasserie.

Thank you to Experience Crieff for arranging the voucher and thank you to Crieff Round Table for choosing my wee window out of the very many that took part.

I really am over the moon to have won. My dolls house is of great sentimental value. It was bought as a kit over 25 years ago and constructed and decorated over several months. Most of the contents were gifts over very many years from my two sons. I received so many compliments over the festive period, I'm glad it brought a smile to so many. Well done to all the little ones who took part in the Sugar Mouse competition too. A Crieff Christmas tradition that celebrated 25 years in 2025, long may it continue :-) 🙏

Good afternoon from Reiki Life HQ. Thankfully it is indeed a better week for me. I am Covid free once again 😀 I say once again as last weeks bout was my 7th - It obviously like me!
I did manage to make it into my wee practice and change the Christmas window though. It suddenly seems very bare but I had a delivery of new items yesterday and have added them in.

A new delivery always excites me. I have new Buddha paintings. They are all hand painted and signed by artisans from the island of Bali. The first shipment I received sold out the same day I put one in the window. I also have some terracotta vases, handmade in a traditional style on the small island of Lombok in Indonesia.

I am also very happy to be back to seeing clients for Reiki. At this time of year we sometimes need a bit of a reset. Reiki is an amazing way to do that, to find a bit of calm amongst the chaos, a bit of light in the darkness. A session is approximately 45mins to 1 hour and costs £39. Good afternoon from Reiki Life HQ - sickbed!!
Unfortunately the practice and shop are closed today as I have succumbed to the lurgy yet again! Day 4 today, not the best start to 2026 but it is what it is!
I have managed to get up and showered and dressed today which is an improvement on yesterday 👍
I am hopeful I will be able to get back to the helm later in the week. I shall keep you all posted.
