💙 Oesophageal Cancer Awareness Month 💙
This month, we’re raising awareness of oesophageal cancer, and the importance of knowing the symptoms.
Oesophageal cancer often has subtle early signs, which means it can be harder to spot. Getting symptoms checked early can make a real difference.
⚠️ Common symptoms to look out for include:
• Difficulty swallowing food
• Food feeling stuck in your throat or chest
• Persistent heartburn or acid reflux
• Unexplained weight loss
• Ongoing indigestion
• Chest pain or discomfort
If you’ve had any of these symptoms for more than three weeks, don’t ignore them. Contact your GP practice, it’s always better to get checked.

💜 Sexual Abuse & Sexual Violence Awareness Week 💜
This week is about raising awareness, challenging stigma, and showing support for anyone affected by sexual abuse or sexual violence.
Sexual abuse and sexual violence can affect people of any age, gender or background, and it is never the survivor’s fault. Talking about it, listening without judgement and knowing where help is available can make a real difference.
Support is available, and you don’t have to cope alone.

This February, let’s show our hearts some love ❤️
Heart disease affects millions of people, but small changes can make a big difference. Eating well, moving more, stopping smoking and checking your blood pressure can all help keep your heart healthy.
💡 Did you know? Checking your blood pressure regularly is one of the simplest ways to look after your heart.
Let’s use National Heart Month to take a moment for our health – and encourage those around us to do the same.

5th February 2026
💚 Time to Talk Day 💚
Today is a reminder that talking about mental health can make a real difference. A simple conversation, checking in with a friend, colleague or family member, can help someone feel less alone.
You don’t need to have all the answers. Listening, being patient and showing you care is often enough ❤️
Let’s use Time to Talk Day to start conversations, break down stigma and remind each other that it’s okay to talk.
