There have been so many times I’ve opened social media & because of my algorithm, it’s usually yoga & the first thing I see is perfection.
The perfect physique & flawless practice.
Every Sanskrit word recited with ease.
Endless classes, endless trainings, expensive leggings.
Certificates stacked upon certificates, don’t get me wrong, I’m not knocking any of it. It’s beautiful to grow, to study, to deepen your teaching. Everyone is walking their own path.
But “SOCIAL MEDIA” is POWERFUL . Its so easy for it to become impressionable, planting seeds of doubt, making us question whether what we’re doing is enough, igniting feelings, like we’re falling short, or somehow “fake,” or not quite right.
I’ve had to gently remind myself what being a yoga teacher actually means to me, it’s about holding space.
Guiding gently.
Meeting people where they are.
Being compassionate, kind, and human.
It’s the smile.
The feeling of being held.
The hug at the end.
The sense of community all things I experienced from my teacher 🧡 You taught me well. .. x
You don’t have to have all the things.
You don’t have to look a certain way.
You don’t have to prove yourself.
Being you is enough.
Being me is more than enough.
I’m deeply inspired by how far I’ve come to stand in this place and I’m no longer willing to let anything outside of me dim that light.
Mine & yours journey is a continued unfolding. We are always learning, growing, and evolving in every role and relationship we step into.
And that, to me, is real yoga 🤍
