Today, we gather in quiet reflection to honour those who gave their lives in the service of our country. We pause to remember the men and women who left their homes and families, who faced unimaginable hardship, and who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we might live in freedom and peace.

We remember not only those who fell in battle, but all who served β€” those who returned home carrying the scars of war, both seen and unseen. We also think of the families who endured loss, and the communities forever changed by conflict.

As the years pass, the number of those who remember war firsthand grows smaller. Yet the duty to remember rests with all of us. Their courage, their sacrifice, and their hope for a better world must never fade from our hearts.

In silence, we give thanks for their service. And in our daily lives, may we strive to build the peace for which they fought and died.

We will remember them.

Tonight, as we gather for the Wave of Light in honour of baby loss awareness week, we pause to remember all the babies who left us too soon. Each tiny life, no matter how brief, has left a lasting mark on the hearts of those who loved them.

At 7 o’clock, candles will be lit across the world β€” each one a symbol of love, remembrance, and unity. For one hour, our collective light will travel from home to home, time zone to time zone, creating a wave of light that encircles the globe.

To all the parents, families, and friends who carry a baby’s memory in their hearts β€” we see you, we stand with you, and tonight, we honour your precious ones.

May this wave of light bring comfort, connection, and hope β€” and may the love we share tonight shine brightly in the darkness. πŸͺ½πŸ‘Ό

Our very own Adrian Amis took part in this years Sands Ribbon Run raising vital funds for an amazing charity.

The annual Sands Charity Ribbon Run brought together runners, families, and supporters from across the community for a heartfelt day of remembrance and fundraising. Participants proudly wore their Sands ribbons and took to the course in honour of babies gone too soon, while showing solidarity with families affected by baby loss.

This year’s event raised vital funds to support the work of Sands (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society) β€” helping to provide emotional support to bereaved families and to fund research that aims to reduce the number of babies who die before, during, or shortly after birth. πŸŽ€

Today, we would like to take a moment to talk about something that often goes unseen β€” our mental health. We spend so much time taking care of our bodies β€” eating right, exercising, getting enough sleep β€” but how often do we check in with our minds and hearts?

Mental health is just as important as physical health. It affects how we think, feel, and act every single day. And yet, so many people struggle in silence β€” afraid to speak up, afraid to be judged. The truth is, there is no shame in feeling anxious, sad, or overwhelmed. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness; it’s a sign of strength.

We all have the power to make a difference β€” by listening without judgment, by being kind to ourselves, and by reminding others that they are not alone. Small acts of compassion can save lives.

So let’s break the stigma. Let’s make it okay to talk about mental health β€” at home, at school, at work, everywhere. Because healing begins when we start the conversation. πŸ’š
