If you've visited Thorntoun recently you may have seen the amazing display of knitted poppies at Crosshouse Parish Church and the War Memorial in Crosshouse Village.

Last year we knitted poppies for this project and we're very proud to see them once again in such a beautiful display.

Thank you to Crosshouse Church for letting us take part.

We were all winners today as we played some nostalgic gameshow inspired games!

We played Family Fortunes and Play Your Cards Right. Working in teams to give our best answers meant we really challenged ourselves and each other.

We'd like to apologise for an oversight that meant some emails weren't included in our invite for the Thorntoun Fireworks.

We understand how disappointing this must have been and we have changed how our mailing list works, going forward this will ensure this doesn't happen again.

We value our families and friends and the support you offer Thorntoun Care Home and our residents.

This afternoon The Oaks hosted a competitive pool tournament that had everyone on the edge of their seats, while The Willows was transformed into a peaceful oasis as Heather led a relaxing, sensory sound bath.

Whether getting our game on or finding tranquility through sound we're living our best lives at Thorntoun.

Tonight Thorntoun lit up Ayrshire with our annual fireworks and bonfire night!

We had a wonderful evening with hot chocolate, shortbread and good company.

Congratulations to our Maintenance and Grounds Team for another fantastic show.

Thank you to management, admin, carers, catering and domestic team for all of your hard work and for giving up your free time and helping make the event a success.

Hes a dab hand at driving, picking amazing music, knowing where to get the best cakes and keeping us active in our community. Just look at these happy faces.

Our mini bus trips are so important to us and we appreciate all of your hard work!

Our residents choice menu is up.

As part of our food and cookery activities in the home residents have worked with our Head Chef Marie and Catering Team to developed a menu containing all of their favourite meals.

We chatted about meals we grew up with, dinners with families and meals we enjoyed cooking back in the day.

We’ve had a Thriller of a morning here at Thorntoun, with none other than The King of Pop making a special guest appearance for a meet and greet, followed by an epic game of boules!

Our Residents got to share some great moments, from Smooth moves to some Bad shots, it was truly a Beat It kind of day.

But the fun doesn’t stop here! This afternoon, we’ll sing and dance the afternoon away at our disco. We’re sure our special guest will Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'—but hopefully, he Won’t Stop Till He Get Enough! 😎

Our residents said - We want to go to a museum. So we did!

We visited Glasgow Transport Museum. We enjoyed the old time street best, although we were surprised with how recent some of the exhibitions are. Why, some of them were younger than us! 😉

We bought souvenirs to remind us of the day and finished with a sing-a-long on our bus journey home, we love having speakers in the back to listen to our favourite songs.
