January at Equilore ❄️
Snow, frost, and rain shaped the month, with busy days in the yard alongside the horses and our amazing volunteers.
Through it all we caught magical moments too, a rainbow, and a little sunshine that reminded us how bright the year ahead can be 🤍

CONGRATULATIONS to Amira, who completed her 50 miles of walking in January. This challenge saw her going out in the dark every night, in rain, snow and ice, even falling over once, but raising over £700 and still going!

EDIT: She reached her original target of £1000 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

Amira started at Equilore because a challenging start in life meant she lost confidence in her abilities. Today she is out there approaching strangers to pack their shopping in return for a donation for Equilore.

Many thanks for the coopuk in Chipping Norton for supporting her amazing fundraising ideas and even putting some grant money in her bucket 🙏

Well done Amira and a special thanks to Zekie her favourite horse at Equilore 🤩

When the rain passed, a rainbow appeared over the yard.
Horses settled in the field and a gentle reminder that even after the storm, there’s still brightness to be found ❤️

We want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible Amira, who has been supporting Equilore through a series of amazing fundraising efforts 💛

Throughout January, she’s been taking on the challenge of walking 50 miles, alongside hosting smaller fundraisers including a stall at the Chipping Norton Christmas Lights switch on and another at Chipping Norton Co-op, where she raised a further £50 every bit makes such a difference.

Her generosity, time, and commitment mean the world to us, and we are so grateful for the continued support she shows to Equilore and the work we do 🐴💫

She’s also hoping to organise a fundraising car wash, so keep your eyes peeled for more information on that very soon 🚗

And to everyone who has already donated, thank you. There’s still plenty of time to support her January challenge, and we’ll pop the JustGiving link below for anyone who’d like to contribute.

It’s January, mid winter. Still dark and cold weather. Post holiday blues may well be kicking in. So here are are the horses reminding you to focus on the sunshine in your life. What are the positives right now? A warm cup of tea on the sofa? Chilling in your evening? Take this time to rest because the hecticness of spring and summer will soon be with us again!

Watch till the end and see how Elsie feels about all this winter fun! 🤣

❄️Adverse weather conditions! ❄️

This week the forecast is predicting snow and ice. How does this affect your session/ volunteering?

In principle the sessions can go ahead. The horses are ready after their Christmas break and the benefit of the frost is that there is no mud!!

However, snow and ice affect individual areas differently and some have a long way to travel. The rule ‘safety first’ applies.

If your practitioner is unable to make it safely to the yard they will contact you asap to cancel your session.

Likewise, if you feel it is unsafe to travel do let us know as soon as possible.

The key thing here is to keep yourself safe!

If you do attend your session or volunteering shift; please note the yard is icy, please be careful on arrival!

2025 at Equilore 💙

This year we’ve welcomed new clients, delivered hundreds of therapeutic and Barn Pals sessions, grown our team, and raised vital funds to keep our work going.

Behind every number is time, care, patience, and trust given by our staff, volunteers, supporters, clients and of course, our wonderful horses.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has walked alongside us this year, we truly couldn’t do it without you…THANK YOU!

We can’t wait to see what 2026 has is store for us all! 💛🐴
