This shout out to parents is on behalf of Amy, a midwife who is keen to hear the experiences of people who decided - or was advised - to express breastmilk during the antenatal period of a pregnancy.

Amy is conducting research into this intervention, which may lead to more positive breastfeeding experiences.

If you have experience of this and would like to speak to Amy, please contact her via email, L.Ablett@nhs.net

And the stats are in for May for home births in Croydon! Congratulations to all the families who were supported by the Crocus home birth Team whilst welcoming their babies into the family 💛

So we had a very busy end to May!

After a quiet start to the month, 9 of our 11 homebirth babies were born within 9 days at the end of the month! The babies were also keen to share birthdays as four times during the 9 days, the midwives supported women to have a homebirth and then were called out to a second or even a third the same day!

Congratulations to all our families on the arrival of your little ones 💜

We've been hearing from service users this week concerned about the potential closure of their local Children's Centre. Due to the council's “severe and ongoing” financial difficulties there is a plan to redesign the way services are delivered. But what will it mean for local families?

Children's Centres provide high quality services that can be a lifeline for families, especially for those most in need of support.

Have your say now by completing the online consultation and it will be fed back to the cabinet before the final decision is made!
