Today marks a very special day , Ash Wednesday🙏🛐 ⛪✝️

Ash Wednesday marks the start of lent , a 40 day period where individuals pray , fast and reflect , today our residents were able to have the representation of ash in the shape of the cross on their foreheads given by the catechist from st Mary’s Catholic Church Croydon which allowed residents to still express their beliefs .

Pancake Day at Albany Lodge! 🥞
Today our residents at Albany Lodge enjoyed celebrating Pancake Day with some delicious pancakes, topped with honey and chocolate. It was a lovely treat and a great way to bring everyone together for a sweet moment.
Some residents enjoyed their pancakes with jollof rice, while others chose to have them with vegetables. Everyone washed it down with drinks and enjoyed the occasion together.
Lots of smiles, laughter, and happy faces all around!

Happy Chinese new year!!! 🇨🇳⛩️🐴🪭

Our residents had a lovely chinese fan dance session which allowed the residents to learn about the meaning of the year of the fire horse and be able to use the elements to create moves with the fan which they enjoyed .

They also were able to witness a lovely fan dance with the moves that they had learned which has so much elegance and passion 🪭💃

This week marks the start of Chinese New Year 2026 🇨🇳⛩️🐴

It is the Year of the Fire Horse 🐴🐎

We had the wonderful opportunity to welcome Eva into our home to teach us about the meaning of the Fire Horse. It represents a powerful and transformative year, full of energy, passion, growth, leadership, and bold action.

To bring this to life, Eva introduced us to the art of Chinese fan dance, which beautifully reflected these elements.

The session was very engaging for our residents, as they were able to use the fans themselves and learn the movements. 🪭🪭🪭

We sang hymns, read the Bible, and took part in a fun Christian quiz, strengthening our spiritual faith and sharing a moment of reflection and joy together.
Everyone also enjoyed drinks of their choice, feeling refreshed and well hydrated.
