Croydon & East Surrey Baby Sensory

Croydon & East Surrey Baby Sensory Multi Award winning Baby Development classes specifically aimed at babies from birth - 13 months - l Activities vary weekly.

Baby Sensory, Baby Development classes provide an ideal opportunity for parents and babies to share in exciting Baby Development Activities

The various baby activities aim to build up a vocabulary of sensory experiences (e.g. visual, auditory and tactile), to enhance physical contact (massage, reflexology, touching, cuddling and rocking) between you and your baby and to promote the development of speech through the use of sign language, music, song and puppets. All activities are excellent for developing physical, social and emotional, and language skills, co-ordination, awareness of the world, a love of music and the concentration so needed for further development. Recent research illustrates that the most important time for development is the first year of life. Language development – many parents experience intense frustration in understanding their baby’s signals. Sign Language is one way of taking the guesswork out of parenting. Physical development – although babies should always sleep on their backs, tummy time is an essential aspect of development from birth. Babies need to be on their tummies in order to go through the fundamental movement patterns that stimulate both sides of the brain. Social development - happy social play sets the tone for the acquisition of future skills such as cooperation, turn taking and sharing. Emotional Development – massage is one sensory delight that really strengthens the bond because it provides an opportunity for parents to express their love.

"The magic behind Baby Sensory® started with a deep understanding of how babies communicate long before they can speak!

Dr Lin, founder of Baby Sensory®, began her journey working with children and young adults with sensory impairments and speech & language difficulties. During this time, she trained as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator and learned to use sign language to connect and communicate.

During this time she discovered that Babies are natural signers. They quickly pick up signs to express their needs and it opened up a whole new world of connection.

This powerful insight helped shape Baby Sensory® as we know it today, supporting early communication through play, signs, and sensory learning."

"Play is fundamental to healthy brain and physical development. Play is how babies explore, connect, and understand the world around them.

Play also builds language & social skills, sparks creativity, curiosity & critical thinking, lays the foundation for reading, maths & scientific discovery and helps babies express emotions & manage frustration.

Play is so essential, it’s recognised as a basic human right. No matter the culture or the tools, all babies play, and through it, they learn who they are."
