You might not realise it when you’re here, but I spend a lot of time thinking about the tiny important details of your treatment.

Not just the massage itself, but:
🤍 When warmth is introduced
🤍 How grounding is added
🤍 The pace and transitions
🤍 The pauses

It’s often the smallest additions that make the biggest difference to how you feel when you leave.

I’ve written a little piece about three simple tools I use and why they matter so much.

If you’re curious about the thinking behind what I do , you can read all about it here:

It's Very Special Week!

This week, my members begin returning to My Retreat and after a little time away for my hip operation, it feels incredibly special to be opening the door again, intentionally, starting with the women who hold Elite membership.

They are always first in line.
First to return.
First to access seasonal changes.
First to hear what’s coming.

Discreet members will begin returning from March, and I’ll reopen to non-members in April.

There are now just 3 Elite spaces remaining, if you feel ready to step into your self-care era in 2026 send me a DM and we can talk about it.

Membership isn’t just about a better rate (although that’s lovely too). It’s about commitment to your wellbeing — and knowing your space is protected.

I cannot wait to welcome you back 🤍

Happy Self Love Day 🤍

We’re very good at loving everyone else aren't we? Today feels like a gentle reminder to turn a little of that care inward.

Self love doesn’t have to be loud or dramatic. Sometimes it’s as simple as:

🤍 Resting without guilt
🤍 Saying no kindly
🤍 Booking the appointment before you’re exhausted

You are allowed to take care of yourself because you matter.

What would loving yourself well look like this week?

When was the last time you truly stopped without needing a reason?

Not because you were unwell.
Not because you were exhausted or had hit a wall.
Just because you deserved space.

Stopping shouldn’t only happen when the body forces it. It can be a conscious choice rooted in care, not collapse.

While I’ve been resting and recovering, I’ve been reminded how powerful it is to give yourself permission to pause before everything becomes too much.

What would it look like to schedule care for your body and mind, not just your calendar?

Something to reflect on 🤍

Many of the women I work with are high achievers (you know who you are!)

They’re founders, directors, creatives, mothers, makers.

They carry a lot of responsibility, decision-making and emotional labour, often without much help.

Something I’ve been reflecting on while I’ve been recovering is how rarely high-functioning women prioritise regular care for themselves. Not because they don’t value it — but because they’re so used to putting everything else first.

The women who choose my Elite or Discreet memberships often do so because they understand this about themselves. They know that consistency matters. That care works best when it becomes a rhythm, not an afterthought.

As I rest and think about how I can support my clients even more thoughtfully going forward, that idea of regular, gentle self-care keeps coming up again and again.

If this resonates, perhaps it’s something to reflect on for yourself too 🤍

We live in a culture where being busy is worn like a badge of honour. As if exhaustion somehow means we’re doing life properly.

But rest isn’t laziness. It isn’t falling behind. And it →certainly← isn’t something you have to earn.

I see rest is a quiet form of rebellion. It’s how we protect our energy and make choices from a steadier place.

Whether that’s through small daily rituals, boundaries around your time, or simply allowing yourself to slow down when your body asks, rest deserves a place in your calendar.

Especially when everything else feels demanding.

Take this as your gentle reminder: you don’t have to keep pushing to be worthy of pause 🤍

Your to-do list will never be finished. And that isn’t a failure - it’s just life.

Life is ongoing. A little messy. Always expanding. There will always be another errand, another message to reply to, another “just five more minutes” task.

So please don’t wait for the perfect moment. It rarely arrives.
Instead, make the moment.

Close the laptop.
Let the laundry sit.
Step outside.

Pause long enough to breathe properly.

An unfinished list is inevitable.

An unfinished you doesn’t have to be 🤍

We’re only a few weeks into 2026, and I’m already hearing it everywhere…

“Right, back to it.”
“New year, new push.”
“Time to make things happen.”

But what if you’re still tired?

What if you’re still healing — physically, emotionally, energetically?

I am too.

I’m still resting after my operation, and I’ve had to remind myself that stillness isn’t a setback. It’s a strategy. One that allows things to take root properly before they grow.

The vision for what’s coming is clear. The return will come. But there’s no rush to force momentum before the body or the nervous system is ready.

2026 doesn’t need to be hurried. It just needs to be rooted 🤍

Before I return to work, I’m allowing myself to enjoy the quiet.

The pause.
The space to restore.
The gentle planning that happens when things slow down.

When you offer your energy to others for a living, caring for your own energy becomes essential — not optional.

The months ahead will bring new rhythms, deeper treatments, and even more intention at My Retreat. For now, I’m listening to my body and letting this season do what it needs to do.

I’m not back just yet — but I am preparing.

Thank you for your patience, your understanding, and your continued support 🤍

Did you know...Before I was a holistic therapist, I was a dancer 💃

Movement, rhythm, choreography — they’ve always been part of how I understand bodies, energy, and healing. They’re woven into who I am.

That’s why my treatments have never been “by the book”. They’re shaped by listening to what your body is holding, what it needs in that moment, and the season you’re moving through.
Right now, as I recover, I’m really missing movement. I can't wait to returning to dance in my own time — feeling strong, fluid, and at home in my body again.

It’s a good reminder that rest and movement aren’t opposites. They’re partners. One makes space for the other.

Relax. Recover. Repose.

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is slow down — so you can move forward with more ease when the time is right 🤍

"I can’t recommend My Retreat highly enough—Julia is so lovely, calm, and professional. Her massages are not only amazing, but she takes real time to understand what you need, tailoring every session with genuine care. It’s that level of thoughtfulness and skill that makes each visit feel special."

For me, this work has never just been about treatments. It’s about how care is delivered, and why that matters so much.

When your diary is full…
When the pressure never really switches off…
You get very good at being “fine”.

You push through. You cope. You carry on.

Until your body starts whispering. And if it’s ignored long enough… it begins to shout.

I’ve always believed that care should meet you where you are. Nothing rushed. Nothing off-the-shelf. Just time, attention, and intention so your body can soften, settle, and reset.

And that’s what allows real restoration to happen 🤍

I’ve been sitting with this thought while I’ve been recovering from my recent hip operation -
So many of us wait until we’re “better”, back on form, or feeling more like ourselves before we reach out, connect, or allow support in.

But the truth is… you don’t need to be fixed to be worthy of care. You don’t need to be back to normal to be valuable.

Wherever you are in your healing — physically, emotionally, or energetically — you’re still allowed to take up space. You’re still allowed to be seen. And you’re still deserving of support.

If this January has you moving more slowly, I hope you’ll meet yourself with the same kindness you’d offer someone you love 🤍
