We are collecting again this year to give gift packs to our local sheltered housing, elderly and isolated community members this Christmas 🎄 🎁

Can you believe it's November already? And we are already half way through another week......

At the weekend the team helped CAP collect surveys at the local football game. They also collected some donated items & delivered to a number of houses.... some of our families locally now have a bed to sleep on ♥️

Monday - PEEP sessions focused on Remembrance day & Children in Need. Lots of sensory experiences for our little Nesters ❤️

Meanwhile our Wellbeing Session explored The 4 Rooms of our house - Mental, Emotional, Physical & Spiritual.... And how we can visit each, take care of, clean & nurture each room to help us stay well.

In the afternoon Badminton 🏸 session for an hour & Coloursplash art therapy group 🎨

The U❤️S Women's group discussion was about energy & energetic imprints. How we can be affected by residual energy.

There were a number of furniture uplifts & deliveries throughout the day.... Helping local people make their house a home 🏡🪹🪺

Today we had Coloursplash throughout the day.

In the afternoon we hosted a Su***de Awareness training session delivered by the lovely Margaret McLean . What a powerful training session, with our living room full of people keen to learn so they may try to prevent su***de ♥️. Being aware & having the ability to notice is so important & could save a life. We are extremely grateful to Margaret for spending the afternoon sharing the training & also to the community participants.

There will be another opportunity to attend this training at The Nest so please get in touch should it be of interest to you. (Date to follow)

We also popped down to the bus stands for another quick tidy up. Thank you volunteers - you help us to help others & make our community a better place 🙏♥️

Breakfast group was busy yesterday, lots of opportunities to chat & connect with others 😊♥️. We continue to be very grateful for those who donate or contribute allowing this to be possible each week 🙏

Our Recovery Mumo group was an opportunity to check in, share where we are & explore the relationship with self.

Our Association of Camerados living room was home for many yesterday. A place where it's ok to be silly sometimes... where we can be alongside others & a place where we can just arrive. Our quiz this Wednesday was fiercely competitive lol...but fun too 😜♥️🙏

Sometimes we just need to do the right thing. One of our mums traveled in by bus and expressed that she was worried her wee one couldn't be out of his buggy because of the glass at the bus station in Cumnock. 😕

So..... A wee group from The Nest packed up some shovels, gloves & brushes & made their way down to clean it up.

This isn't a post about Ego & trying to get praise.....it isnt having a go at East Ayrshire Council or any other authority, so please... No negative comments 😊❤️🙏

It's a post about the power of the community. If we see something we can help with & we feel we can help (safely) then why not.... sometimes if we see something instead of moaning about it we can help, do what we can. And it really didn't take long.

So our wee team brushed up the glass & removed the broken plastic. Our wee Darra helped... even a baby contributed (safely & supervised, risk assessment was undertaken) ....if our Wee people can help clean up our hope is it leads by example 🤞🤞

We didn't moan, complain about the mess or who may or may not have done it.... We just did what we could ♥️

Our lovely partners at East Ayrshire Council were driving past & very kindly joined us as we finished up. They took the rubbish we had in their van and gave us some bags for future use.

Someone commented when we were there "there's no point, it will be the same again tomorrow" - we smiled & replied..."that's ok, if that's the case we will come back tomorrow & do it again"

Someone else said "That shouldn't be your responsibility, folk get paid for that" - we smiled & replied "we don't mind, we feel it's everyone's responsibility & it's not taken us long". The person then thanked us. It didn't take long when there was a team on it and we understand the increasing pressure the local authority are under. Yes, the glass has been there a wee while...so let's use the energy we might use to moan or complain...& Do something to help 🪏

Peep 10am at The Nest 👶

U♥️S Women's Group - 12.45 until 3pm at aThe Nest

Coloursplash - 12 until 3pm (referral based group, please message for a space)

Badminton 🏸 - 1pm Catrine games hall.

Family support group - 5pm at The Nest - for those affected by addiction.

We also have a number of uplifts of donations & deliveries on Monday so give us a wave 👋 if you see the Nest van out & about 😉
