It was a privilege to read my poem in front of Anoosheh Ashoori at an inspiring evening put together by Amnesty International Dundee .

Thanks to everyone who attended our exhibition launch on Monday. It was inspiring to hear Anoosheh Ashoori's stories of resistance and resilience, Professor Ali Ansari's political insights, and a beautiful poem from Fife poet Marianne L. Berghuis to end the night. In the picture you see Anoosheh's gift to us - a pressed flower grown from the soil of Evin prison. The exhibition will remain in Central Library until the 28th of February.

Words from the Coast - Creative Writing Workshop

'Words from the Coast' is a creative writing workshop that aims to immerse participants in the evocative environment of the coast.

This guided workshop invites writers to engage all their senses to craft vivid, sensory-driven work exploring coastal inspired writing. This may take the form of poetry, prose, or personal narratives.

Following on from the successful Words from the Coast project which ran last year with support from The Village Creative this new event is a stand alone workshop using some of the ideas and techniques developed during the project.

The workshop is suitable for all levels of writing ability and writers aged 16 - 116. There is no requirement to have participated in the project to take part in this workshop.
