🧠Managing Worries Workshop🧠

We will be running a 6 session Managing Worries Workshop every Tuesday online starting from 27/06/20223 1pm to 3pm.

These sessions will include:

- Understanding anxiety and how it manifests
- Classifying worries
- Applying CBT techniques to help manage worries/anxiety effectively
- Coping techniques to help reduce the impact on day to day lives

⭐ Recent feedback from a past participant of the group - "The group was very positive and both Nihal and Aki created a really comfortable environment where it was clear people felt comfortable to share their personal experiences which I think is so important in a group like this. The group itself definitely served its own function independent of the content being covered, it became a space and time allocated to reflect and engage with people facing similar problems and made me realise I am not alone in the issues I’m facing."

👉 Our group sessions are free and confidential, accessible to anyone over the age of 18 and registered with a GP in Barking and Dagenham. If you are interested, you can give us a call or use the link in our bio or below which will take you to a self referral portal.

Today the LGBT+ Progress Pride flag was raised at Barking Town Hall with staff network members for Pride Month.

London Pride takes place at the end of the month on Saturday 1st July, and once again B&D will be joining the parade. I'm looking forward to marching alongside LGBT+ staff and young people from the borough.

Importantly this year marks 30 years since Section 28 was scrapped, revolutionising the experience of LGBT+ students in school from thereafter, and highlighting the significant progress made since then.

Despite the huge strides, the battle isn't over and we stand firm with the LGBT+ community today as they continue to fight discrimination and challenge ignorance.

🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️PRIDE MONTH - June 2023🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

June is Pride month - a month dedicated to celebrating LGBTQ+ (le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, q***r and other) communities all around the world.

We believe all people, regardless of identity, expression, or orientation, should be proud of who they are. We would like to help empower LGBTQ+ people to celebrate who they are and encourage allies to voice solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community.

Mental health problems such as depression, anxiety or having suicidal thoughts can affect anyone, but they are more common amongst the LGBTQ+ community. Being LGBTQ+ doesn’t cause this problem, but some things the community face such as discrimination, transphobia, homophobia, social isolation and rejection can affect their mental health.

Barking & Dagenham Talking Therapies is a safe and non-judgemental mental health service. Our services are free and confidential and open to anyone over the age of 18 registered to a GP in Barking and Dagenham.

If you’re interested, you can give us a call or click the link in our bio.
