CHAPS Charity and its South Essex Committee were delighted to have held another successful Men’s Health Screening Day at the Grays Civic Hall and staged by Blackshots Impulse Leisure Team.
This is the 4th annual event with FREE PSA Prostate Cancer Blood Tests made possible by the committed fund raising of the Committee supported by substantial donations from West & Coe Funeral Director, Mardyke Valley Rotary Club and Impulse Leisure.
We would also like to thank Mayflower Dermatology team, the Thurrock NHS Health Team and the Oakfield Sports Injury and Musculoskeletal Clinic support.
This year we screened 104 men for Prostate Cancer and will continue to do so until a national screening programme is established. At last year’s event 6 cancers were detected which proves the value of these events and the effort that goes into their staging and fund raising!
Well done to all concerned for attending and supporting the event.

A huge thank you to West & Coe Funeral Directors for their incredibly generous £5,000 donation, raised at their annual West & Coe Charity Golf Day held in July.
The cheque was presented to Jackie Ross, Corporate Fundraising Manager, during a special afternoon tea where West & Coe warmly welcomed their supported charities to celebrate and acknowledge their work.
We were delighted to be a part of such a lovely afternoon and are truly grateful to everyone at West & Coe for their ongoing kindness and valued support.
