A month back we had Jack in for his tight traps he was getting during sessions at the gym, so we focused on loosing up these back muscles to help relieve his areas of tension. With great results post treatment, Jack felt a difference in his traps & ready for his workouts πŸ’ͺ

How can sports massage help runners?
β€’ working on tight & fatigued muscles can help reduce DOM’s for faster recovery
β€’ by loosening the muscles it will help regain full resting length and allow you to feel better for next race/run
β€’ allows you to prioritise recovery to enable the mind & body to unwind

3 - Rocket and George cuddling together 🐢
4 & 5 - using the hot tub & plunge pool at to help recover between sessions is why I got back to David Lloyd πŸ’†β€β™‚οΈ
6 - needed to pop to the chiropractor on Thursday for a wee tune up of the body 🩻
7 - finally managed to source some farm eggs with jam, unbelievable 😍
8 - always love graffiti, and love the walk under the bypass where it showcases some class artwork πŸ–ΌοΈ
9 - we’re going pink for next running season πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ‘Ÿ
10 - rocket just being rocket… πŸš€πŸΆ
11 - a wee selfie on the walk with rocket, which was sunny and pouring rain.. why I love Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
12 & 13 - walk with rocket, and seen a double rainbow which was nice 🌈
14 - after several muddy walks.. rocket needed a shower 🐢🧼

Most common rugby injuries I’m seeing πŸ‰

β€’ Achilles tear - regular massage can reduce the chance of tears, with regular treatments the calfs can be less tense so you can feel better
β€’ Achilles tendonitis - similar with regular massage, it would be recommend to check your gait analysis incase of foot imbalance which could result in pain over prolonged time
β€’ Lateral ankle sprain - strength work could benefit you here, to help stabilise and strengthen the joint
β€’ Nosebleeds - rugby is a contact sport so bound to happen, but the fitter you are will reduce poor tackling form to reduce injury risk
β€’ Pinched Nerve
β€’ Tight trapezius - from scrums, rucks, collisions, and work can bring this on, regular massage can help loosen up the traps to ease for the player
